Admiral Tojo insures all extracted files are in place. There is nothing left to do except give the order. He depresses the transmit button, certain that Japan's most glorious moment is about to begin, "Tora, Tora, Tora" he commands proudly.

Note: The what does it mean 1limt for army? Something like that, I am confused.

General Jiang Jieshi have fight the Japan ever since Japan took over Machuria, although the fight have alway ends up in Japan's favor, the brutaility of the Japan soldier enflamed the Chinese to fight up and the Nanking Masscare only raise the determination of the Chinese People. In fact, Jiang Jieshi have made a pact with Mao Zedong's Communist to fight the Japanese first and resolve their difference later.

Meanwhile

McArthur at the base in Philipines, The commander of all Pacific Theater.
United States have embragos all trade against Japan, and although unknown to the general public, all the high army official is bound to attack U.S. and secretly have been building up their forces. But after WWI, the army and Navy have been downsized and a lot of the recruits and soldier have no combat experience and are fighting with vintage WWI weapons. Such as Springfield and bulky .50 cal machinegun although effeorts are made to replace it with newer M1 Garand, and new weapons, in general, they are unprepared.

In northern China Tiayuan’s mines are destroyed by artillery.
Just outside Sian farms are destroyed and barricades captured.
Roads north of Chengu and west of Hankow bombed.

Hong Kong and Nanning captured by armor supported by artillery.

In the south, farms outside Phuket shelled.
BBs Prince of Wales and Repulse sink in the South China Sea by long range naval gunfire, an armada of aircraft and a sub. A torpedo bomber was lost in the action.

In Borneo, the road north of Sibu was bombed as paratroops land nearby.

In the Philippines, Aparri was bombarded by heavy naval fire as marines stormed ashore.
Near Manila, the radar towers and airport were destroyed by naval fire and bombers. A fighter squadron was destroyed on the ground.
Paratroops then landed throughout the area. CA Houston was sunk near Davao but DD Edsall sank its attacking destroyer and escaped.

Pearl Harbor and Midway bombed. Roads, radar and irrigation destroyed.

That evening Japan issues a formal declaration of war and instruction on how to initiate surrender proceedings.

Week 48, 1941 to clonner

(BTW happy VJ day. I hope things work out a little different this time.)

Near Officer's Quarter, Pearl Harbor

Captain: You still haven't answer me yet Private what ARE you reading!!!

Sailers2: Damn, those army airforce guys

Sailer1: Wait!!! Look at the meatballs under the wing!!!!! That's not our?

Captain: It's the Japs [sorry about the use of pharse but then they call it this way hope I don't offend somebody] (Than the sound of the 500LB bomb can be heard and explods nearby.

Sailer1: We are under attack!!!

Captain: Get to your battle stations, quick!!!
(drives away)

BB Oklahoma
The men are still sleeping when the attack begins, the air-raid sirens sound and the loudspeakers yelled out:

"Real planes, real bombs; this is no drill!"

The mens run to their battle stations but to their surprise the attack never came. Instead of attacking the fleet the planes wreck the entire islands of Hawaii, The house were destoryed, the road bombed beyond repair, the dikes destroyed and the Citzens suffered the most casulties.

Three Hours Later. in Philipine
(The day time hours so when the Japanese attacks, it's 5AM in Philpine so the attack come later.)

The thundering roar pierce the silence of the morning at port Apari(something like that)
The men of the flipino divisions were cut of guard and 1/3 of it's men with kill/wounded in the bombing attack, the rest of the green troops were no match for the well-trained Japanese troop as they overtook the city.

Near Manilla the Radio Tower were destroyed in the bombing and the tank battalion which were training in the beginning of the attack were strafed and bomb by the airplane and 2/3 of it's vehicles were out of commision or destoryed.

Next day Roosevelt calls tells the American Public

"Yesterday, December 7, 1941- a date which will live in infamy- the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked..."
[The books ends here so I have no idea of the rest]

Thourghout the next week, the Pacific Fleet reorgainzed and flew scout mission to find the Japanese ships that attack pearl harbor. one squadron of Wildcat succesfully find a small fleet of carrier and battleship escaping
Pilot: This is Red6 I have spoted a small fleet over.
Meanwhile General McAruther was hastily flew back to Pearl Harbor to command the pacific theatre when he hear this
McArthur: I want the near force to attack it rightaway!!!
What's our forces?
Officer: we have one subs nearby.
McArthur: Good I want it to target the carrier right now!!!!
Officer: Yes sir!!!

hours later the Japanese fleet was rocked by the thunderous sound of the torpedo hitting it's mark, the victim was carrier Soryu, after attempts by the crew to put out the fire, the Carrier sink.

Near Manlia, Philipine,

Sub Officer: HQ, I've found some battleships shall I attack?
HQ: Yes, fire at will!!!
Sub Officer: Yes sir

The Japanese fleet was once again attacked, but this time the torpedos missed and the battleships threw depth charges and sank the Sub

While the subs attack, another one was preying on a small fleet of transport and a battleship

Sub Officer: Shall I attack the battleship sir?
HQ: No, I want you to attack the transport
Sub Officer: Roger

The Tranport, sailing the calm water of the pacific ocean was struck by the torpedo and sunk with all hand on board.

[I think I lost 1 or 2 subs, I am not sure because at first I didn't really keep track of the casulties]

General Jiang Jieshi of ROC,[He's the guy that control China at the time, his other name are Chaing Kei-shak...] Repblic of China at HQ
General: I want a stutus report.
Officer: sir, we are still manuvering the troops but the progress in slow as most of our railroad and road are destroyed and some cities are revolting.
Gerneral: I want this fixed now. I want units moved to front line and into cities and build dug in and have the flak ready, the airplane are bombing us like crazy.
Officer: Sir, our bunker near naning was overrun by a large force of Japanese Army.
General: Direct heay bombardment to thier postion now, I want two brigade of Artillarys ready.
Officer: I have good news sir, the Japanese have attack U.S. at Pearl Harbor and decleared war against them, now the U.S. are willing to openly trade and help us.
General: Great news, I want to communicate with them right away.
Officer: By the way, we have received words that Japanese have masscared tens of thousands of civilizans at Nanning.
General: Damn, those Japanese are trying to break our backs. We have to do something. Tell all the other regional commanders that we must vote to mobilize our entire country for war. But We need to have the support of the poeple.
[NOthing major happened]

GPS

The Commonwealth and allies are SHOCKED by the appealing behaviour of the Japanese.

Despite this infamious times, the Commonwealth and The Netherlands have not made any hostile moves against the Japanese forces, in hope of achieving peace. This can be done by the IMMEDIATE withdrawal of all Japanese forces of all occupied areas, Machuria included!

Let's please align the turns with the PC. This turn was zero, next one will be turn 1.

I'm sorry guys, but I need to replay this turn there were too many things not working out because I was unclear on scenario properties. I hope you don't mind. I'll do everything the same but preserve random sead could not be selected so we'll have to see what we get, too bad we can't save at any spot during our turn, these things take so long.

Here are a few observations that are not mentioned in the Civilopedia:
Armies do not see 2 tiles
Jungles cost 2 movement I think
Subs can not be seen by anything (I know you told me in the email, but I forgot  )
gerillas have all terrain as roads, may have ZOC as well
Aircraft on airfeilds are impervious to all attacks!

I can handle bad luck with the RNG, but I'm pretty sure something else was going on there. If this can be shown to not be the case then when I replay I'll just skip the moves of all aircraft that were involved in the Midway fiasco.

Again sorry

Damn you find out LOL, I was going to let it be a surprise

Well I guess so, I have no objections

you can see subs only IF you research the tech

and seriously I have no idea about the airfield so can't help you on that

But that sounds great!!!! Well for now maybe

Yes, that is a bug in the Civ game engine (and also the reason I based a bunch of planes there), you CANNOT damage planes on airfields by bombard.
I told you you would learn lots of cools tricks in this game!

Look like I am in luck!!!!!!!!!!!

:cringe: There is most certainly a problem with airfields. When I attack the ground units I get the "Your attack failed" and "You have wounded the poor bastards" just like you're supposed to, but after they get down to 1 hit point no matter what kind of aircraft or ship I bombard them with there is no damage inflicted and not even the "Your gunners suck" message.

I'll just play through in the morning, but any marines headed to midway will be wishing they could make the crossing by submarine. :help:

Chinese artillery fire on the northern boarder proves too much for the Japanese and they are forced to withdraw, but not before dismantling the barricades. This is not the end of the offensive though as two guerillas are killed trying to slip across the front lines and in the skies the battle rages even more intensely. Roads are again the target in Lanchow, Kunming, Chunking and Chengdu, but the desperate defenders are ready this time and two Betties are lost.

Another dark day for the Brits as fierce fighting finally overwhelms the Rangoon defenders. Naval bombardments cut the roads out of Singapore as the local fighter squadron is whipped out by attacking Zeros. Across the China Sea, Japanese bombs rain down on Borneo as well while paratroops capture Sibu.

In New Guinea outposts and roads are put out of action leading up to the invasion of Rabul. Once again losses are higher than expected but success is never in doubt.

The Japanese celebrate success all along the Philippines as well taking Manila, the airfield and Cebu. But they learn a measure of respect for the Americans after an AA battalion repels an assault by crack marine units. The small garrison on Guam will be the next target as Japanese infantry secure the northern half of the island.

Elsewhere in the Pacific success is more difficult to measure. The Americans prove elusive so when the Heavy Cruiser Chester and its destroyer escort are spotted they never had a chance. Admiral Tojo braces himself for the American retaliation.

Hi there,

this really is an annoying bug. In our PBEM, Eric and I decided that no more
than 4 planes should be based on an airbase at any time. This way, it is still
possible to send invasion fleets towards all those islands with airfields,
although they will suffer losses. I suggest a similar game rule for your PBEM.

Good luck to all players!

Right now I finish USA, working on China

Near Pearl Harbor:

Sub Officer: Patroling the perimenters

HQ personal: Good, continue. I want you to go a little eastward.

Sub Officer: Yes sir, wait, our sonar detects torpedos, evasive actions now.
Find the target. Fire torpedos too.

(The subs fires back, but the defected torpedos missed bearly and hit the ships side, but it's not so fortunate for the U.S. Sub as it was hit right on and the sub was badly damaged)
HQ!! Mayday! Mayday, I am evacuating my crew but the sub is nearby.
HQ: It's too risky to send rescue party. Wait, two destroyers are coming to your aids

One of the destoryers starts throwing random depth charges near the perimenter as the second one rescued the survivors. The destroyers successfully score the hit and sank the nearby sub

Destoryer officer: HQ Claer, but threat may be still lurking by. Evacuate all captial ships.

Elsewhere near Midway Island

Temporary Island HQ: Alright peopel, I know the fleet that attack Pearl harbor is near hear, I am not sure where, but it has to be near, and we are gona to find them.

Hours later,

Sub Officer report I find a small fleet of one carrier Kaga and one Crusier shall I attack?

HQ: Yes, attack the carrier first, we will take care of the crusier.

Sub Officers: Yes sir, Fire at will!!!
The subs lurks toward the fleet and strikes unfortunately one of the torpedos missed. the Carrier doged and prepare to lunch aircraft.

Sub Officers: We have to sink it before it took us out people ready your target!!!
This time the subs hit it's mark and Kaga went down.

Damn that crusier is chasing us. HQ our engine is damange we can't outrun them!!!!
HQ: IT's ok, heres your reinforcement.

group of Dive bombers and Torpedos plane went stright toward the crusier, it's dodge several, but still was hit again and again until it finaly sunk.

North of Pearl Harbor:
F4F Wildcat was search for the fleet when it saw a battleship and a carrier.

I find target NOrth of the harbor

HQ: Got it

Minutes later the first group of Dive bombers approach the battleship and carrier.
But than as the Dive bomber prepated it's attack, a squadron of Zero can down form the cloud and decimated the Dive bombers, but as the two where fighting, High Attitude Bombers and torpedo Bombers attacks the ships, Sinking the battleship and damanging the Carrier.

At same time, a DD where found and it was bomb by the last gorup of Dive bombers which damanged it.

However, during one of the routine search, the Fighter squadron found another fleet west of the island out of reach of most aircraft.
A bomber was called in and it damaged the BB, but can't sink it.

Meanwhile the Guam Garrison was bombs and the rest of the survivors launch a attack on the Japanese Forces but was wipe out instead.

Philipines, the remaining troops and ships retreat toward Davo, the lasting island of Philipine still under U.S. control.

I only saw this now, I thought you were playing the next turn.

- I have stated a few times but will repeat: submarines aren't seen by anything in the beginning, thus making them a lethal weapon.
- If you hadn't restarted yet, I would have proposed to give Armies "Radar". Is the least to compensate the limitation.
- Jungle costs movement 3. I did not realize this as well.
- Guerillas treat all terrain as roads, but don't have ZOC.
- Shall we limit airfields to having 4 planes, as suggested by El-Tigre?

Sorry, Jungles do cost 3, but Japanese infantry only pay 1. This game is pretty casual, but if cloner doesn't mind maybe you can start working that pile down to six aircraft.

NOOOOOOOOO MY IMPERVIOUS PILE OF AIRCRAFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought 6 or 7 is good, but you gota let me have some time to clear that thing first!!! maybe give me 2 or 3 turn to evenly distribute my plane

Actually I am ok with that, as long as everybody do it. So when I start attacking I won;t have the same fate!!!!

GPS by the way

China

Officer: General, I have new, several of our farmland was destroyed and our people are starving!!!!!!
Jiang Jieshi: Damn what other news do we have?
Officer: Well, even though our transportation was destoryed, reinforcement are coming and a steady rate, and worker are clearing the rubble of the bombing.
General: I want to create a bait and diversion force down the south, what unit do I have?
Officer: There was one near XXX, shall we do it.
General: But it would mean certain death!
Officer: We have reports that the unit is under artillary fire and it's likey they can be taken out.
Their is a nipponese infantry within range shall we attack
General: Excellent, now they just have to fall into my trap!!!!

Infantry successfully kills the nipponese infantry

 No rush really, but yes it will apply to us all.

In the long run, let's make maximum 6 planes per airfield.

In the next 3 turns, it will be OK to have more, as long as in Turn3 there is no more than six per airfield.

Hmmm... this changes things! It will make life harder for the Japanese in the beginning.

Life is already hard for the Japanses since you've forced me to declare war on you both. 6 airplanes, that way your doomed pilots can at least have company.
