C3C PBEM - WW2 Global

Ooops ... I thought it was pretty much common knowledge that all Infantry types have Amphib Assault capability.

Certainly one of the pains with Rocoteh's scenarios is that invariably the Civilopedia is never up to date ... but then when you consider the amount of work he has put into this and the fact it is evolving on such a regular basis, updating the 'pedia early on would be a huge waste of valuable scenario design time.

Out of curiosity, did you guys play much single player with this scenario ?

As for replaying the French turn this would pretty much be down to Perkins.
I would like to say though that the assault on Sardinia and Sicily are a major part of the Allied plan ... a plan which would be totally unattainable and I wouldn't even attempt now that Germany is forewarned ... further to this, in preparation for the assault I commited forces which I certainly wouldn't have commited if the assault wasn't going ahead ..... I have no real problem with replaying the French turn under the circumstances but if that is to be the case then I would prefer to replay the British turn also so that my forces can be put to alternative use.

It us up to perkins do decide whether or not that was "fair." I don't think that I had any ships with bombardment ability based in Sardinia, but about half of my Meditteranean Submarines (20+) and about a quarter of my remaining destroyers (15+)

I was kind of wondering how I would ever have the chance of taking Corsica if I didn't have some sort of Marine...well, now I know...

Beat off a small counter attack in Mexico, killed one inf., got a promotion.

One of our subs sank 1 Jap DD near Wake Is..

Neutrals:
Sank 2 subs and 2 DD, lost 1 DD in attacks near Panama. Neutral counter
attacks sunk 1 of my DDs and 1 sub.

Spotted a couple of neutral coastal defence battleships around the
Phillipines, I have no ships large enough to take them out.

This is going to sound horrible of me but obviouly i dont want to because killing ships in ports was the idea i spent alot of money hurrying the transports and even tho i caught you offguard i will lose my chance to take it making it alot harder for us to win africa/the med

im a reasonable guy tho so if the majority of people in this pbem think that i should replay the turn i will but keep in mind amphibious attacks arent going to go away in this pbem

Amphibious attacks tho will probably be a major fearture of fighting in the med europe and the atlantic/asia

Yes you are right. In fact it would be great if someone wanted
to make such Civilopedia-stuff.

However 2 individuals have send me PM:s and asked if they could
make the Civilopedia. My answer was: "Go ahead but you must invest incredible amounts of time."

After that I have never heard a word from them again.....
They also ceased to post in the WW2-Global-thread.
Thus if someone ask me again I not sure the answer
will be yes....

On the future: I will complete the projects I have earlier stated
I will make. After that I will probably withdraw from scenario-creation.

Should Civ 4 deliver heavily improved tools for creation I will
return. To be quite honest I doubt Civ 4 will deliver what I hope for.
Thus I will probably withdraw for good in July/August this year.

Umm...how do you edit the civlopedia? Do you simply go into the readme file associated with this scenario and change things around? If so, I could tinker around to get you a good final version... I have time to put towards this... I could at least get your most recent version properly updated.

Also, I guess that Sardinia is yours, perkins_mah...this changes strategy tremendously!

1939 Week 41

Not much action...

Bomber kills Cavalry (Fr) in the mountains by Tunisia.

Bombardment and destruction of more roads in N. France.

Bombardment of French roads in North Africa.

Bombardment of Berbera in Ethiopia.

Turns sent onward...

That Meditranian loss is awful :( While I think you should have lost the island, it'd've been nice to keep the ships. It's insane to think they'd all be destroyed.

Scrol down to the units part; they look like this:

#PRTO_Bomber
^
^
^[Bombers] are not as versatile as fighters, but they have a larger operational range and greater bombardment power.
They may be based in any city or aircraft carrier on the map.
^
^A city needs $LINK<oil=GOOD_Oil> in its $LINK<Strategic Resource=GCON_ResourcesS> box to build a bomber.

Just write in what each unit does.

Say, for Infantry, add in "has amphibous ability" or what ever. It needn't be as good as the game's default... just provide information.

My session apparently expires before I'm logged in. I'll see if it's fixed around 2. If not, I'll give yuo an alt email address to send to.

No battle to report. Lots of infastructure bombing. A source of dyes and a source of spices cut off in China. Troop movements.

Well this isn't good. :(

Guess none of you guys saw this then ...

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=2535872&postcount=14

I managed to get my computer going again last night but I also need to download and install all the scenarios that are involved in my PBEMs.

I have been at work all day but am now feverishly downloading .....

I HOPE to be able to play all my turns late tonight or early hours of the morning GMT.
