C3C PBEM - WW2 Global

We took one more city in Mexico, lost 1 infantry. Just one more left
and we reach the canal.

Sank 7 Neutral DDs in the Atlantic, losing 1 SDB dive bomber.

In the Pacific we sank 1 Jap sub and one unknown sub. Neutral
counter-attacks sank one of our subs and 2 DDs.

1939 Week 42

Damn the neutrals...all they have managed to do is take Brest...meanwhile they are getting their arse kicked and probably giving the Americans some valuable experience...

-1 U-Boat sank 3 un-indentified subs in the Mid-North Atlantic...apparently U-Boats have multiple attack capability...

Other then that, only the Luftwaffe and Italian Airforce saw action:
-Bombardment and destruction of roads in Southern France and Northern Spain (Damn the neutrals again!) by 4 Ju87Bs, 2 Heinkel 111s, 2 ME109s, 1 ME110 & 2 Italian Bombers.
-2 Italian Bombers, 1 Breda DB & 1 Fiat FR7 destroyed some roads in French occupied N. Africa and 1 Road in British held Egypt.
-Usual bombing of Berbera in Ethiopia killing 1 British citizen.
-The bad news this turn, loss of 2 Heinkel 111s over Paris to SAM...I don't know if there is any point to bombarding Paris by air again...I hate to imagine what attacking London would be like (Flak & those Spitfires...just too much!).

GPS to Rubberjello

Did I mention that the neutrals anger  me...I think I will have to do something about that...if I am ever able to defeat France...

Oh! Btw. The Soviets are still seemingly asleep to the outside world. What could they be up to? :mischief:
Turn sent to Chinese portion of Dazzg's schisophrenic personality.

Err, doesn't that make the neutral invasion of France more successful than the German invasion ? :p

D'oh!!!! Why don't you twist the knife a little deeper, eh!?

Umm...the reason the Neutrals were successful was that they bypassed Paris which was occupied with German Forces just outside of it. However, I am beginning to believe that I am not that good concerning modern warfare...my strength is diplomacy...which I worked quite effectively in CSM1. Also, I am guessing that a bit of a phoney war will set in...

I am also quite certain that this will be the last locked alliance scenario I play...especially one that starts with an "at war" alliance. I still think Hitler should have found some way to wait until 1944 to conquer Poland as he had origionally planned...that is something that an "at war" alliance prevents me from doing. Now I have to learn how to effectively prosecute a modern war against what for the most part is a very equal opponent in France (at least as far as troop strength).

Which goes back to my first point that the Multiplayer version of this Scenario needs a few tweaks. I feel the France to German strength ratio for the single player game is about right, because the human player knows all the tricks to minimize losses against the AI. But a skilled human player playing defense in France can bleed the German player dry very, very quickly.
What is the best answer?
I don't really know. By giving more forces to the Germans at the beginning, it would make France discouraging to play and hasten a much faster (than week 30 of 1940) victory in France. I assume the scenario still wants to reflect how the real war went to some extent, so realistically the German player should sit back after Poland and build up Tanks during a "phoney war" that lasts the rest of 1939's turns? That would just give France to bulk up even more defensively so that may not be the best answer either.

Again, little combat to report.

Guam was taken.

In China:
Last road into Canton destroyed.
Resources bombed: Coal, oill, rubber.
Mountian Pass from Lanchow to Sian destroyed.

Road into Hong Kong bombed, destroyed. Japanese troops move in and occupy the local fields.

I Stumble from one computer problem to another ...

My internet connection and email has been erratic to say the least since my computer crashed but this is due to a problem with my ISP. It has been kind of fixed but I now find that the turn I received from Augurey was heavily corrupted as it arrived during the problem, just like the turn I received from Gnarf for Dunkirk.

@ Augurey ... if you could send me the file again please.

Once I get the file and play, I HOPE to be able to send it ... my email hasn't been sending attachments consistantly - it has taken something like 36 hours to manage to send a turn for TGW !!!

@ Augurey ... no need to resend after all - a short time ago, a lot of emails which should have arrived days ago as well as some (including PBEM turns) which had arrived as expected, appeared in my inbox. I have checked and played Dunkirk without problems so I expect Global to be ok as well.

I shall be playing in an hour or two.

Played and sent.

Brest is now in British hands.

Two aircraft were shot down attempting to bomb roads in Belgium.

Jap Destroyers of Hong Kong shelled.

Jap sub North of Port Moresby sunk by Destroyer.

Unknown Sub sunk in Mid Atlantic.

Sicily bombed.

BK will write up his turn a little bit later. In the meantime, the game is on to the Dazz G Chinese.
LMAO!!!! The Neutrals tried to extort Iron out of me!!! I'll bet Rocoteh never envisioned that happening!
I "declined" their demands, and they slunk off in embarrassment.

1939 Week 43 (That makes it about the 3rd week of October)

The biggest news from this turn is that the Neutrals are no longer neutral towards Germany or Japan so it cost them numerous infantry as well as the cities of Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Zagreb & Belgrade. Losses were minimal...about 4 German Inf, 1 Panzer 2 (they are obsolete now that I have the Panzer 3), and several Italian Inf (not really a loss!). They also gave me several promotions to elite and even a great leader named Erich von Manstein...hopefully his leadership can help us defeat France... ;)

Other action included:
Meditterranean:
-15 Dest. & 11 Subs def. 22 Dest. (Br) for the loss of 2 Subs & 2 Dest.

Northeast of Lyon:
-4 Ju 87Bs, 1 Heinkel 111, 1 Dornier, 1 Me110 & 5 Me109s destroy the fortress, def. the 3rd Fortress Div & destroy the roads and railroads.

Southeast coast of England:
-4 Armored Cruisers & 2 Battlecruisers bombard and destory 3 roads.

Southeast of Brest:
-3 Heinkel 111s & 1 Dornier def. 1 Inf (Br).

Berbera:
-4 Bombers kill 1 citizen (and that's it!).

Spain:
-3 Bombers destroy the road connecting La Coruna to Biboa.

Paris:
-2 Artillery bombard the city taking off a few hit points.

That's all...turn would have been faster if it wasn't for the damn neutrals...I was planning to ROP rape them later in the game...their declaration of war also delays a few of my othe plans  .

(Why did Germany post after China??)

GPS. Little to report. Canton bombed, destroyed baracks and killed 2 chinese infantry. American naval stack w/ the Yorktown spotted, enemy interceptor shot down when I tried to bomb an isolated destroyer.

that's all
