What does the picture on C5 look like?

Actually, I see a frilly collar and a pointy Dutch hat. It's the Netherlands.

I see a dark skinned half-naked man with a funny hat. Maybe some Polynesian/Micronesian civ? I thought maybe Maori, but they don't seem to have worn silly things on top of their heads.

What I wonder is what the guy(?) has in or before his mouth? That huge white thing?

It's Mehmed II of Ottomans. The picture is too blurry to identify, but 2K/Firaxis made a tweet about Mehmed taking Constantinople. Odds that they did that for no reason: 0%.
Could be.

In the screenshot you see all pictures, this picture to me look more cleare and to me it look like the person have a mongol hat with a horse tail or something sticking out from the top of the hat.
Well, it is very clear that there is no horse tail on C5. Are you even looking at the right picture? As for my enlarged picture appearing less clear; there are clear features that can be made out on it that cannot be made out on it that cannot be seen on the picture of the board with all of the pictures.

That picture is recent art, not an original painting. And your comparison does not match up.

The Tomyris art is from a costume book. The source doesn't matter as long as it is a complete match.

I voted in Mongolia, in my opinion is the most likely to C5.

I think that the Ottomans also has chances, however Persia I do not think we will see in the base game.

I like this idea. It fits between Mali and Poland and can be a substitute for Persia.

It can't substitute (like substituting Mongolia for China), but would still be a welcome addition!

Also, I really think that image best resembles a Persian stone carving. If for no other reason than the coloration. I can't find good match on the internet, but the image could have been scanned from a book. Also, like Japan, Persia has been in every iteration since II.

Which one?

No, this guy isn't Ottoman or Persian.

It's either Central Asian khan (though as I said before, for the love of God I can't find actual depictions of Mongol khans in such hat) or from South East Asia (where similar hats were worn by kings in Myanmar, Laos and Siam - but even these are imperfect).

Looks like this image will torture us for three months

I'm thinking it's a firaxis drawn picture because like you I see something (in my case ottoman not Mongol) but can't quite find a Google image for it.

Remember that an art they chose might be a recent art, like the Bararossa one.

Going by the alphabet hypothesis, I first went with Persian and tried to find any relief that matched the photo; especially a reliefof Cyrus, since he would make a nice pair with Tomyris. But no dice.

Then I went Mongol hunting, because that could be a horse rearing back, and I found this:

No, I don't think they are the exact same photo, but maybe the photo could be of Genghis Khan on a horseback. At least going by the shilouette...

What I wonder is what the guy(?) has in or before his mouth? That huge white thing?

Oh, that is just becuae I changed the lighting on the picture to make other things more visible. There is not actually a huge white thing there. And if there was, it could have been explained by an external factor, like light shining onto the picture.

I found close enough hat.

But anyway it is art. B5 also is art. Golden Horde art. Batu khan probably.

I really don't buy the golden-horde idea.

Timurid empire territory

Firstly, choosing a smaller break away from a much larger empire would seem a strange choice. Secondly, if they were to choose a break away from the Mongol empire, why the golden-horde? It wasn't the largest of the chunks of the former mongol empire in land area or population. Also, if the developers wanted an Asian civ from that region of the world, why not go for the Timurids instead? That was more an impressive empire in its own right, as opposed to a break away. I can't really see anything that Batu-Khan or whoever would bring to the game personality wise that Tamerlane for the Timurids could not. Also, in terms of representing different nations in the game, the Timurids under Tamerlane could easily be labelled as 'Uzbekistan'. Having said that, Timurids are clearly not in, as they are not an alphabetical fit.
