Quite a good match!

If Greece is Hellenistic league it would fit alphabetically as well (I think, I'm not very good at the alphabet though)

Edit: wrong place for alphabet fit, mixed up C5 and B5...

I agree with this interpretation.

Hopi Shaman

Do the Hopi go by any other name which could fit between Kongo and Poland alphabetically?

There is the possibility that C5 is a Viking and very possibly a Queen or female deity. Noticing the breasts. The headress gives a clue of a warrior type goddess. Just a raw observation.

Yeah I've been thinking Native American for C5 also. Mostly because I can't imagine Firaxis would ship without a single tribe.

'Norse' just really doesn't fit as a civilization, but something Scandinavian was also what I was thinking.

Edit: Damn, now I'm seeing another white collar, instead...

To me it looks most like a Mongolian Khan (and I'm sure I've seen Genghis' name mentioned in interviews), though it could be a leader from another steppe horde, or possibly Gwanggaeto of Korea (as he looks in some of his depictions). There seems to be a circular blob on what I'm interpreting as the torso, which might be the buckler-like plate you see on the front of Mongolian armour:

At a stretch it could be an ancient Middle Eastern leader with a beard - depending on how you interpret the image the hat could look like one of the truncated conical crowns that Phoenician kings wore:

I cannot see the large Ottoman turban, Mexican sombrero, Native American attire or female figure that some people are claiming, especially when looking at clearer, less zoomed-in versions of the image. Sorry. :(

I attach 2 pics to support the mongols to be C5.

Maybe there is a medal on C5, like on the mongol pic I also attach...

Not a medal, it is a metal part of the armour, which is use to protect the heart. This kind of armour is quite usual in eastern countries.

I really don't buy the golden-horde idea.

The Golden Horde does have a good alphabetical fit. And weren't the Goths even less significant?

If I look at small size versions of the picture I see someone in shiny armour, wearing something like a brimmed helmet. To be honest, it looks neither Hordesque nor Gothic.

I really think it's a leader out of alphabetical order, after Greece, but before India. They probably only realized their error when they put together the second sheet and just threw Pericles in the first slot on that.

You mean Inca?

Hopefully! But I can't find a picture that fits. Even still, it certainly widens the possibilities beyond the paltry list we have.

Edit: Oops, I've been talking about B5 in a C5 thread. My bad.

Speaking of which, why has no one made a B5 thread yet?

I'm telling ya, if we get Scythians at or near the start, we don't get Mongols. They have extremely violent destructive nomads covered, with a queen leader no less.

That is an Ottoman sultan, with turban, tassel, ample beard, and white-collared robe, all of which are extremely common in depictions of them. Given their name-dropping of Mehmed earlier this year, and apparent wish to switch up all the leaders used this time, I'll go with him.

Next most likely is Persia, they definitely have some stylistic similarities to the Turks. I will be happy with either.

There is more room for nomadic civilizations than just one. After all, they have quite a few very similar milquetoast European civs. :D

They had both Mongols and Huns in Civ5 by the end.

And both Scythians and Mongols are not so nomadic - they built cities (well, a city in case of scythians).

Oh sure, but not from the get-go. Mongols will be in the game sooner or later. But why pick the Mongols when you've already got the Scythians, under a leader with a Mongol-like legend around her? You'd pick Ottomans, Persia, SE Asia, another pre-Colombian American civilization, etc first.
