Can anyone predict who will.........

.... get the gold medal in this months game??

Are there anyone out there who dares to make a guess on who will win the current GotM and who will be second and third??

And who will get the blue star and the green star??

What do you think the average GotM score will be, and the average score and finishing year??

My personal guesses are these:

Gold = Kev
Silver = Inquisitor
Bronze = Thunderfall

Blue star = Starlifter
Green star = Cactus Pete

Average GotM score = 36
Average score = 1907AD
Average finish year = 2469

Well I haven't read all the recent threads so I can't make many predictions...

But Shadowdale I agree with your average finishing year prevision. I think that 2469 is a bit high though for an average score...

This is a "difficult" start, by fast start standards. Based on your history and posted progress in 1 AD, Shadowdale, I'd say you're in good shape for at least a Silver, and I sure wouldn't bet against you for the gold, LOL

BTW, based on your post, you seem in 1 AD roughly where I was in 1000 AD.

If you mean average finish year 1907 AD, I did manage to just slide in under that

This game will likely be won by someone who is able to finish in the 1700's, but it seems few people are going to take care of business that soon.

I will break 5,000 (haven't finished the last turns yet), but took so much time polising off the AIs (until the 1820's LOL!) that the (50^PNP) function will really punish my final GOTM score

...

I'd say either Smash or Cactus Pete might be in for the green star (fastest finish), and presumably my game or yours will have a good chance for the blue star (largest score).

Hopefully, there will be various people that can win medals as time goes on

Umm....I appreciate the vote of confidence, Shadowdale. However, I've quickly discovered that keeping up with you and others is a pretty tall order. I'm pretty much resigned to the 5th-7th spot, but I'm having a great time and learning the whole time.

My own prediction would be for you to have some astronomical score and then delight in razzing Smash!

I noticed how you kept your own name off of the list to give us all a false sense of security..

Good point... my bet is Shadowdale = Gold... Why? Becase he has the best posted start in 1 AD so far, and knows how to run a biiiiig empire

Actually, I'm not doing badly, just taking forever, ripping apart the terrain.

Judging by Smash's powergraph, I'd have to give him some medal hopes. Shadowdale is apparently a perrenial, so we'll have to keep him in mind. TF's graph looked really rough, so I doubt we'll see a medal there, and I was impressed with Starlifters little downloads he offered us, so I'd look for a top ten at least out of him.

Should be interesting.

Actually, it's hard to guess about your game, since your powergraph does not work (from your 4 July post), and you have not posted very much about your GOTM 6 lately <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/smile.gif" border=0>.

Why thank you. Hopefully the downloads might help newer players by showing some good and bad things I've done along the way. After the GOTM results are in, I'll post some 1800's saves so others can see why I often tout a democracy. But, I still can't figure out (in hindsight) why I took so long to heed my own suggestions... I waited way too long for the revolution, and paid the price with a late finish date.

It turns out my shooting wound up being in my own foot <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/biggrin.gif" border=0>, so my decent Civ score is heavily penalized in the final GOTM result, though a top 10 is a good possibility <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/beerchug.gif" border=0>.

Despite all our "predictions", to all you new players or those that have not finished the GOTM: jump in and have a go at it! With the "slow going" for the "usual" high scorers, this is a good chance, esp. if you can finish relatively early... so get out of the bronze age, find the silver lining, and grab the gold... you'll be king for a month! <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/king.gif" border=0>

I think that the medals will be won by some new people (well, at least bronze). Of course the old leaders will still be there, but some new people are joing this feature, and we could expect something from them (well, i'll submit my gotm for the first time, but don't expect anything from me - i'll be struggling to get 30%)
