Can someone explain the fix for AI armies?

Just a thought: I noticed that the army has "blitz" ability. There've been discussions lately on various threads indicating that when a unit has "blitz" ability, it might be more likely that the AI will use it....

Unmodded army has blitz as well.

I read if you change some line from "x=y" to "x=y-1" then the AI will load units with the same speed into armies and fix the problem of the AI not loading its armies. Is this correct? Can anyone tell me exactly how to do this? Does it change anything with regards to my own armies?
This sounds like altering the source code on some level. I read somewhere else that this fixes the problem. Is there any way to do this?

*sigh* To recount the efforts made would be like hand copying War & Peace ...

:(
I read some of the back on forth between forum members and firaxis on some message board on another site, back in 2007. Looked kinda like banging your head against a brick wall. Too bad, as most issues would have been solved.

Would Firaxis take money to make a couple changes (actually bug fixes). Maybe a couple of changes to the ranges.

It would probably be many thousands of dollars. Probably they wouldn't even acknowledge a request.

I sometimes wonder about what the typical number of threads a datum has to be in to effectively be known by everybody ...

My contact was a classmate and Board member, and you really can't get too much higher than that, which means that no reasonable amount would interest them.

Furthermoe, when newer titles are being developed, the core creative and tech groups get critically thinned out, leaving people behind that probably know less IT than you do.

So they probably turned us down out of boredom.

Refreshing, no?

OK, here's how I am dealing with the AI Army issue. First, I make two different Army units, on for the AI and one for human players. The AI Army gets a transport capacity of 1 with 13HP bonus. Then I make the Pentagon a Wonder instead of a Small Wonder, so the AI can't build it. They will now fill 1 unit into their Army, and the Army will have from 17-18 HPs, which is where the AI would get it using normal Armies. Then I run my Armies with the default settings. Viola, the AI builds armies but you can still mix/match your own units in the Armies.

If someone could help me with this I'd be eternally grateful: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=358936

I'm not sure what caused it, but if I had to venture a guess, I'd say it's because of the large availability of units with 1, 2 and 3 MP during the same era. If the AI is offered the chance to build and load several unit types with different MP into one army, it will do so.

I also have large availablibilty of units with 1, 2 and 3 MP during the same era.

My problem is if the AI first loads a 3 MP unit into the Army then the the next unit loaded has to be 4 MP, I don't have a 4 MP in my game.

This is why I am forced to limit armies to one unit and give them a bonus of 9.

I just noticed I hadn't post here but I too have the AI armies loading and functionning properly. I can't remember a standard game (haven't played one for a long time), but when playing RoR I usually see Hannibal attacking with a Swordsman, an Elephant or two or sometimes a horseman, and I haven't changed anything (yet) to the scenario by Firaxis :)
