My mom on her computer moved all of her photos (already in other folders) into folders depending on the year they were taken (2005, 2006, 2007). Now when she clicks on the folders inside the 2005, 2006 and 2007 it coems up with an error that says they are not accessable. Which doesn't make sense since there's only one unpartitioned hard drive. How can this be fixed? As the photo's were about to be backed up, also the CD reader/burner died a couple of weeks ago.

Where were the photos moved, under certain circumstances you may not be allowed to access other peoples folders under the Documents and settings folder. If your on a Mac see if copying and pasting the folder somewhere else works (I know that you can access other peoples 'drop box' folder this way- so much for passwords.)

Does the error say "Error Opening Database 2000"? If yes go to this link.
It seems to be a problem w/ the Dell image expert software. I would uninstall Dellware because they're a system manufacturer, not software designers, and most of the time, it is just a cut-down version of the original w/ "Dell" stamped all over it.:)
Note- keep PowerDVD, their are no free versions of it for various reasons.
Edit: Google is awesome, you can quickly find all types of (FREE:goodjob: !!!) help with it.

sounds like you don't have the file permissions to open it. try opening them on the administrator account. If you're on the admin account then it's probably a corruption.

if your cdwritter isn't working the easy thing to do is buy a new one.

In windows explorer try clicking tools>Folder Options...>View
check show hidden folders,
maybe there hidden?
