2108: The Attack
January 1st, 2108- December 31st, 2108
Second Napoleonic War Report
This year is a much different year than most, in many ways. First we go to the Spanish front. Currently, France and Spain are deadlocked in the Pyrenees Mountains, and Andorra is under heavy French artillery barrage, which has only produced craters in which many Spanish soldiers are hiding in. The Spanish are holding out splendidly, even though the bulk of their forces are in the UAP. Portuguese forces didn't opt to help Spain, instead, it began the offensive on Soulac-sur-Mer, on the western French coast. Exactly why the Portuguese chose this location is a mystery, but it was probably due to help secure a beachhead. Soulac-sur-Mer is relatively close to Bordeaux however, only 75 kilometers away.
Next, we go to the German-French war zone, which now includes Luxemborgia. The main problem here is that the Germans and French are at a stalemate, although each side easily advances into eachother's territory, they keep on getting pushed back. However, France scored a key victory in Reims, where they destroyed the Germans stationed there within 6 hours. In Luxemborgia, relatively little fighting emerged, only the occasional skirmish. The US beachhead in Calais has expanded relatively well, most cities surrendered due to lack of forces, the rest were mopped up. Surprisingly, no extra damage was done to French villages, albeit the occasional knocked fence, smashed windows, and bullet holes. There are problems for the US, however. It seems like the French decimated some infantry squads, for they had no air support, and little AA support. Most of the AA support was with the US tanks.
Next is the Italian front, the place where attrition is at its worst. Neither side has advanced in the Alps, but Italy scored a victory in the south, where they have freed Naples and brought new supplies. The French have begun a policy to starve Italy, they have set fire to wineries, grain fields, and olive plantations. In extreme cases, they have used napalm over villages with extreme Italian resistance. The CA tried to blitz French lines, but it met with failure. Mostly, the airplanes were ditched, due to lack of fuel. Supplies grow short, as CA cargo ships are sunk by the French navy. The EEC and AHSR have begun a small war of attrition, very little casualties have been sustained.
Scandinavia and Denmark have begun the attack on Germany, but only minor skirmishes are still happening.
As such, training has risen among the ranks of those in the war. (Numbers will not be posted)
