I thought multimaps was still in Beta and not included in the latest SVN, so I must be mistaken. There are a lot of things in C2C that I don't know about, and I have been playing it a long time. There seem to be fewer modders active now and more chatter on Discord than Civfanatics. I have never seen a random space map, just the actual Solar System and Milky Way, etc.
Somebody613 if you could give us a step-by-step direction as to how you set up and then choose options for this Space Mod with random multimaps game that you are describing, I would LOVE to play it sometime. I am definitely playing with a space scenario with a random Earth map and a pre-set Space Map. I am not great at knowing which files to copy and paste.... No hurry...
That's not what I said, unfortunately.
There's NO random Space map option as of yet.
There's NO real Multi-Maps option as of yet.
What IS there:
1. It's technically very easy to MERGE a random Earth map with a premade Space map under certain conditions - the Space part has to be ON THE RIGHT from the Earth part.
It's still only partially random, obviously - the Earth part can be randomized however you want, but the Space part has to be hand-crafted in WB.
Sadly, there's still NO script to randomize Space itself (and I'm rather surprised and upset about it, let's be honest).
2. One of the last normal SVN updates included the option for a "multi-map" Space - you could "teleport" between [Earth] and all sorts of [Planets] and further [Space Regions].
It's currently hidden, I think, and has to be turned ON in the files (have to check details, it was too long ago).
When this option is enabled in the files, you can choose it in Game Options as well, and then your Space-related units get the "teleportation" Mission button alongside other buttons.
You simply click it, and your unit "teleports" to a non-[Earth] map.
It's buggy, it's very alpha in most senses, but it's there and really technically WORKING.
So, yeah, we DO have a "sort of working Multi-Maps" already, even if it's more a proof of concept than actually useful much for the real gameplay.
Here's some visual PROOF, lol:
