Caveman 2 Cosmos (ideas/discussions thread)

I really doubt it's a real problem in Classical Era, lol.
Depends upon Game speed selected, Map size and Number of AI plus NPC in the game. This is why we do Not recommend for example: Huge Maps with 39 AI on Eternity Gamespeed.
EDIT: Game set up Options Also come into play here. Think about it. Animals Count as Units too. Example: Game Option Peace between NPCs; Barbs don't fight Neanders or Animals; Neanders don't fight barbs or animals; animals don't fight animals. Animals will be everywhere and fill a map. We've had that Problem before.

I quite often play Pit's map (which is beyond massive) on Eternity, I do get the turn-time lag after a while, but I can't recall the last time I had a MAF there, unless I tried using World Builder.
We are talking about THOUSANDS of units, not merely HUNDREDS. That's... a bit harder to reach, loool.

Does anyone else find ranged attacks to be rather underwhelming? The hit chance is absurdly low, promotions are weak, and it hardly does any damage. Even siege galleys and frigates could hardly do anything.

Unit review is still an ongoing process.

Soon Christmas will be upon us.
On the 1st day of Christmas
my true love sent to me
a partridge in a pear tree,
On the second day of Christmas
My true love sent to me
Two turtle doves
And a partridge in a pear tree!

xmas around the corner in a few days and I figured I'd let ya know I'm alive. slowly losing the financial battle here but getting setup to do a lot more a lot faster with a pulling out of the nose dive strategy and nearly able to do that. I did it for a minute but then got hit with a few more things and the ads didn't quite return as hoped the first time, but I've got a second try coming up. Thankfully xmas gives me some time to get setup if I can get around spending all that time just reshuffling debt again.

Happy Thanksgiving to All.
Except of the course the Turkey, who gave his life valiantly so that we may FEAST!

Unit review is still an ongoing process.
Yeah, and I wish I had the ability to bust it out over the vacay but no rest for the wicked for me.

Christmas has come and now is past. No stockings were hung as all my socks have holes in them!

Regarding a new "game engine": If you are interested in what a game engine is in general, here is a surprisingly good video IMO about a ... well, simple, game engine, starring MS Excel of all things:

What if every civilization received one point of unhappiness for each resource it doesn't have that a contacted civilization has? Why can't we conquer their sugar plantations? Why can't we buy Indian tea? Why can't we have what *they* have?

Unhappiness is mostly useless in C2C, with it's huge roster of buildings and much broader city sizes.
It would have an effect on very slow and very hard games, but there it's already a nuisance of its own, no need to aggravate what is already a pain in the donkey, lol.

I just lost 3 out of 6 population in my Capital and only City and that makes me really Frustrated. Just curious as to whether anyone enjoys the Killer Influenzas in Prehistoric Times, lol, I vote for a New SVN that makes it possible to have Some random events and REMOVE the really bad ones that make it hard to progress fairly quickly???

When that event happened to me I went into the EventTrigger file and changed the minimum population required for that event to 1000 to just quickly disable it. Reloaded my game from an autosave the turn before and it's like nothing happened.

Thanks, Guys, but actually really like positive random events. I am hard to please, lol I could start a new Game with Events off but I kind of have become attached to the Zulu!!!

C2C is definitely the best turn-based non-RPG strategy game (it's pretty much a standalone game now, even if it's technically a mod) I've ever played, that's for sure.
I'm saying this because C2C still lacks a few (admittedly non-Civ-type) features that would make it into my most favorite non-real-time game EVER.
But as far as Civ-type games go, it's #1 without any competition whatsoever.
