Caveman 2 Cosmos

The number is the SVN version number from the last time dll was updated not all SVN updates relate to the dll.

Thank you. I knew it must be something simple I wasn't seeing. What's the best way to determine my current svn number? Maybe I should just change the name of the folder to include the SVN number when I copy it.

Right click on YOUR SVN folder, go to TortoiseSVN, (another pop-up window appears), then go to "Show Log."

Or when you "update" again click on show log.

What I should build or research to have contact with other civs? They are on another continent.

... ships? (sorry! :mischief:)

It used to be that the Ishtar Gate made you contact every civ in the game, but I for one am glad that's not the case anymore. Other than the initial start, the Age of Discovery phase of the game is one of my favorites.

Wow thats early Renaissance (fifth era)! I'm waiting for v29 now BTW - playing on slightly customized GEM.
There could be South America unique culture, so I could have neighbor on south, when playing with America (playing with each 5 AIs - 6 different unique cultures).
Is there going to be new map resources in v29? I heard about national smelters and stuff.

C2C (like BtS) is designed to make it nigh impossible to get between continents until Renaissance. There is only one unit, a Culture Unit for the Polynesians or something, that allows crossing earlier.

Only on Earth type maps with Old world vs New world settings, Not on every map whether its vanilla BtS or C2C.

OK, on any map with more than one continent with ocean in between them. Whether it is an old/new world thing or Archipeligo.

With Advanced Diplomacy, you can have contact with all civs long before you visit them.

How its possible? I have Advanced Diplomacy on.
There is no civs on my continent.
BTW I play on GEM map ;)

I mean by buying/trading it from some who do have it. No you can't do it if you haven't met anyone:lol:. An isolated start is a rare and very specific case.

GEM is an Earth map isn't it? Which continent has no point of contact with any other?

Australia

Also US and Asia only connected by ice tiles that are impassible (Berring straights I think)

Bering Strait can be passed with culture if settling the westernmost "Aleutian Island". Same maybe possible with island hopping through the Indonesian islands from Australia.

I was assuming the poster had boats of some kind. I don't know GEM but it must be very detailed if there is open ocean separating Australia from New Guinea and Timor. :)

And North America is connected to South America.

Yes indeed, but you cannot contact American civs from Europe or visa versa without ocean crossing (or apparently placing a city at an extreme point and stuffing culture into it, which I hadn't realized worked)

There is no civ in south america. (I'm playing on North America, GEM map)
Is there going to be unique culture for South America? I play on custom preset GEM map.
I placed 6 civs - each of them have different Unique Culture.

Yes, there are unique south American cultures

Ummm... South and North American cultures are in one box.
I think there should be South American and North American Unique Culture buildings, like Africa, Europe or other ones.
Or it was changed in SVN?
Currently their Unique Culture is simple America now.

Yeah already been tweaked by Hydro for v29 back in Jan, i believe.
