Caveman2Cosmos

OK, and many many thx, but what would you say then are the BEST part(s) of the Puppet States mod that YOU would want to see?

If puppet states is the one I'm thinking of... I believe it may be on my list of 'to be merged' mods (not too many on that list and they are fairly low priority comparative to other goals but its worthy of mention that its on the plan agenda anyhow.)

I thought that puppet states just replaced vassals/colonies, it did not add a new relationship. Or am I mistaken or thinking of an earlier version.

Noob question. I've downloaded V26 and put it in my mod folder. I've downloaded the patch and extracted the files. What do I do with the patch?

I'm not really 100% sure myself since I operate off the SVN. You should take your question to our forum though since most of us lurk there and rarely notice this thread.

It depends if you have a 32 bit or a 64 one running:

32:
C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Caveman2Cosmos, should be here plus the patch goes here also, just over ride the contents is all.

64:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Caveman2Cosmos, should be here plus the patch goes here also, just over ride the contents is all.

Hi there,

I'm a little baffled, and I think the zip file might be corrupted, but each time I've tried to unzip the mod, it throws an error telling me that it (my zip program) can't. I use jZip, which can handle just about anything -- at least, up until this mod, I've not run into any file type it can't unzip.

Is there an alternative zip file I can download, or any suggestions on something to try?

Thanks for the help, and sorry to be a pain.

Try to unpack it with a new version of 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org/). I think there are some compression methods used here that older decompression programs don't understand.

I am haveing a bit of a problom on how to install caveman2cosmos  v26 i dragged an dropped in the mod file and i got on the civilization4 beyond the sword game and the main menu did not pop up atleast not the right one so if any body can help me contact me by phone number:Moderator Action: *snip* or email creamergrayden[at]yahoo[dot]com. thank u

Just two points. The first which is quite small is that when I run Civ 4 and select advanced, load mod and C2C it quits civ 4 and takes about 5 minutes to load the mod (I'm writing this in one of those durations!). Second is that the interturn delay is enormous, even right at the beginning. I've seen the let's play on U-tube and the clips that have such delays are much shorter than mine. I have a high spec PC, 8 GB of RAM and quadcore processor

Thats just the FIRST time you load it is all, it could take up to 15 minutes, but with yours it should only be around 5 minutes, AFTER that it should take around 1 minute to load.

Thanks, regarding the second point is there any computer settings I can change to reduce the interturn delay? It's just that ive seen it a lot lower on the tutorials. I'm playing standard sized maps with about 10 rivals

Thats JUST loading time, actual turn time, is usually under 30 seconds, until you get into the Modern Era etc.

You may want to autoload C2C mod directly, mine is setup to load C2C bypassing the need to load it from advanced screen. There are instructions how to do this in the tips and tricks section. C2C is one of the largest Mods out there, it will take some time to load up. I have a i5 Quadcore running at 4.4ghtz, 8 gb of ram and 470 Nvida card. Hell before on my old computer 2.4 quadcore I couldn't play the Mod on any decent size maps.

Click on BUG in game, inside there are a ton of options. One of which is to minimize the AI turn times, it helps a lot especially if you play on huge maps with 10-12 civs. Look in BUG (red bug on left side top of game) for many options.

You can configure the Mod inside .ini files too. ;) Have fun

I downloaded the mod successfully, moved it into the civ 4 folder. When i opened the game it was in the mods folder, but when i went to reload the game with the mod it just never restarts. Can someone help me? I have the digital copy but i do not think that would make a difference in this situation.

While it takes a rather long time to get it to come up with loading, if it NEVER does then yeah, there's a problem.

Sadly, v26 release was rather buggy and requires a patch and even then... eugh.

v27 is coming very soon (within days) but if you want to play right away and don't wish to fool with patchery, then I suggest utilizing the SVN version.

AMD Dualcore 2.4
4 gig of ram
I can run the game on high graphics, and play the old republic smoothly. so that isnt the issue.
64 bit
I might try another mod and see if that one works, any suggestions for another good one?
