Caveman2Cosmos

grats guys! I hope this doesn't mean no more updates and wonderful additions to C2C right? :D

Hi all
First of all, congratulation for this really complete mod historically as well as good to play.
But is it possible to add more diversity between different civilization because to my mind, germans don't have or had the same equipment or uniforls as France for example.
Therefore, could you possibly add in caveman to cosmos varietas delectat or some kinds of graphical mods like this.
To my, mind it would greatly improve the game experience.
Thank you and keep up the good work. :goodjob:

However it would be contrary to the ethos(?) of C2C. The country name you start with has little or no relation to the culture you will develop in a game; and we have not figured out a way of making the art dynamic yet.

I agree, but i am currently working on as you want, "extra" units PER (so called) civs, they will be located in the modmod thread area.

Thank you for answering.
Now i am gonna wait like a child with eyes full of dreams

Another monumental gameplay strategy broken here, see the NEW way Leaderhead Traits are used, they are very useful NOW!!!

I'm excited with the new C2C releases, gives me the chance to start a new game, see new changes and experience them first hand. I have to admit once I hit the Industrial era I lose some of the initial enthusiasm for the game play, but I keep coming back to play time after time. Great Mod, best Civ game ever! :D

would be a great mod, but can't install it at all. too bad. please upload this to something other than dura. or at least post link than is the mirror.

The mirror link is there in the D/L itself, you just have to wait for it to appear, BUT dont use Desura (Never).

Strategyonly:
How do you use the new civilizations in your mod? The Confedracy and the two others. How do you get them to run in the mod?

All you need to do is do an override of all files, i believe i have it set-up that way. . . SO

But if your adding more than ONE civ in the add-ons, then you need also to add that civ in the MLF area of the Modules section.

Um, that nice guy dima1980 is constantly providing the TORRENT downloads.
So why not use them to begin with???
I DID say this before, too.
(Funny, but THIS time the torrent is kinda frozen...)

Anyways - cool new update!

Arghhh, just when I thought it was gonna work XD
I tried three times, one time it didn't even start up, second it got stuck and crashed, and the third I managed to look at the civs and see the pictures (oh, are you an EE player? :P) and then after loading the game...

BOOM!
Crashed.

Can anyone help me? I unzipped the file with 7zip in to the correct mods folder.
Edit: Nevermind, it's working. But how can I stop it from being unstable? :S
Edit2: -_- It keeps crashing... Memory couldn't be allocated, _-_.
Edit3: I can't even get a game now. It's just completely buggered up.
Edit4: I changed to the lowest graphics settings, then I changed them back. Now I'm getting this bloody error...
Failed to allocate video memory. Please try reducing your graphics settings. File:\main\Civilization4\SDKs\Gamebryo2_0\CoreLibs\NiDX9Renderer\NiDX9SourceTextureData.cpp, Line:321.

Does this work for Windows 7?

I would love to play this mod. But I haven't figured out yet how to do it. The problem is following:

With huge mods like this which cover such a large timespan, really only large maps are feasible. Since you have so much more time in every era and so much more of everything in general, playing on small or normal maps wouldn't do the mod credit, since you would never see the later eras or be able to make use of all the additional features. You would win (or lose) a domination victory assumably in the ancient era. So far no problem, I like large maps better anyway, which I can play for many weeks.

So I tried the Giant Earth Map for C2C. I've got a pretty decent rig, but with the first turns taking 5 seconds, I know where this will lead to. Once each civ has a couple of cities the turn time length of will make the game unplayable. We are talking about 5 minutes per turn, and that's not even all too far into the game. I know this from the regular GEM, which I had to give up in the middle ages (on BtS, which is obviously a lot faster than C2C).

So...

Is there something I am missing? Or do you guys who play this mod just all have absolute supercomputers?

Any advice is appreciated!

I put in the Confedracy successfully, but how do you put in the other ones. Do you have to edit the MLF file to add more civs? Thanks for the help so far.

Pls do me a favor and ask in the thread for the civ you want to add, thx. (See my signature where to look).
