CFC Minecraft Server -- World 4

I've replaced towny with Residence. Command list is in the second post. It is a little bit more complex than towny, but not by much. It does have a feature where you can select chunks to be claimed into your residence like towny did.

Basically to build a town like before, you need a few like minded players to agree on an area to build with each as an owner rather than one town with citizens sharing build rights.

I'm not, I claimed just enough land to build my house and then I extended that to fit my dog pen and a slight expansion in size. And I can afford to buy a vast amount of land and max out my residences, but I don't see the point of claiming more than you need unless you are going to be a complete loner.

It's like, do you need that super-size cola at Macdonald that's basically one gallon? No, yet people take it. People are people.

inb4: ew I wouldn't be at Macdonald's to start with.

Do you need large open areas of land? No. Would it be smart to purchase the prime locations when you have the money so you can sell it to the highest bidder when land becomes more rare? Maybe. I'm not trying to gobble up and hog all the land, but land is extremely cheap, and I wouldn't be surprised if the existing players start to rapidly expand their borders.

Land is too expensive, now it is too cheap....

Oh yes, land is leased from the server, so you do need to pay to keep your land.

I thought the initial price was just fine. After all the map is not that big. Anyway, that's my 2 cents, didn't mean to complain.

There is a limit to how much you can claim and people could have done that before with Towny but I didn't see it happen (indeed Port Geoff barely had enough claims to cover the area we built up and there was still plenty of unclaimed land on the map). And if someone does start a real estate buisness, well thats part of the residence plug in but PVP is also on :p

You also wouldn't be able to get much money for a plot of land either unless that person already has money, which anyone who is looking for their first site is not going to have.

The map has lots of room and I don't think we are going to run out of it considering how many people play (and how few of them build more than a half-finished house). Most people just have not settled very far from spawn.

EDIT: You are also the one with the most claims. EDIT2: Indeed you are the only who has claimed land on someone else's area TWICE. Way to be a horrible neighbour.

But anyway, croxis I think the server needs to be restarted again. Its lagging a bit, though it seems almost inconsistent. I seem to have no problems placing blocks or moving or using doors, but destruction is lagging along with inventories and messages. EDIT: Block placements are now lagging too :/

server seems to go up and down randomly.

anyway, this floating island map makes it hard to choose good residences anyway.

Am I the only one that can't login? I keep timing out. It might be my connection though. Instead of my regular DSL, I'm behind a slow wireless.

THe district is blocking the ssh port, so I can't log in to restart minecraft. I am going to try to go in through my phone, but no promises.

EDIT: God bless tethering. Server rebooted. Now maybe I can show my model in class!

When the first rumors came about that the world would be destroyed, we of Cosmopolis (the fake ones) banded together to build a boat to journey to a new land. The effort was much in vain. By the time we had arrived, I, Captain Skwink, was the sole surviver of the journey. I now live on my own in the boat we built.

My path from spawn to mbpland is finally finished!!! Go to the dock and you will see signs showing where to go. I plan to put rails + cars in as soon as possible. :)
