Looking at these screenshots... Did you guys choose your team (so that you'd be with other CFC members' team)? I dunno, I always let the game throw me in a team (auto select team). Maybe that's why I always got put in the team with nobody I knew.

I prefer playing TF2 with people that I know in these forums. It has that Cheers' feeling where everyone knows your name.

That's cos you don't know how to play with the backburner, or don't want to put in the effort to ambush people from behind. :p (I am leery of making all-purpose panacea statements, really, and think that each has its appropriate uses.) Backburners are killer, especially if you're on D and maneuver behind a gaggle of attacking players...instant death. Playing pyro+backburner is like playing spy, really, except you don't get the benefit of cloaking and disguising.

Of course they're killer in certain situations. It's not that hard to use.

The point is, the versatility of the flamethrower in my opinion outweighs the specialized advantage the backburner has. Soldiers and demos, while still pretty much your worst enemies ever, are less scary with the compression air blast.

This is a testament to Valve's skill at these sidegrades though. Some people like one, some people like another. :p I used to prefer the backburner too, until I decided to put some time in learning how to time the airblast.

Most of the time pyros can't get behind the enemy and they aren't meant to. Using pyro for nothing but ambushes is like playing a crappy version of spy. Against a single target you should just light him up and finish him with the Axtinguisher, that way you don't have to deal with crappy hit detection

Compression Blast is only useful against ubers

Again, it seems the stickies barely roll 2-3 feet off for what uses like 25 flamethrower ammo with the blast. Jeez, the stickies should fly really farther than that.
They go farther if you hit them with a bullet. Of course, if you're using the flare gun, then you can't do much as a pyro.

Hi,
I would like to join, my steam ID is billeb75.
Thanks for making the group! :goodjob::D

You're doing it wrong.

I can't seem to find you... what current name are you using?

So, you mean, you gotta step on them and do the thing quickly hoping the demoman isn't just there camping his stickies like they usually do 90% of the time?

Wut? I meant the airblast.

I'd rather just be a spy, sneak up behind the demo and stab him in the back than trying to get rid of the stickies.

In related news, I hope Valve makes a cloaked spy on your team more visible. Sure, it's cool to be all invisible to your teammates while you're cloaked, but it's annoying as hell when you want to go places and your teammates get in your way.

For example, you're running to the roof in Badwater as a BLU spy hoping to sap sap sap all the sentries up there for your teammates to come in and summarily destroy. Someone, however, apparently didn't get the memo and decides to run up with you as you're cloaking, which means that as the man's shooting for your teammate, you get hit as well, and there goes your disguise.

I also want the cloak timer thing fixed. It's just dumb to have to look to the bottom-left corner of the screen to see if you're fully cloaked. It's totally counter-intuitive.

Thats the annoying thing with friendly spies when they are cloaked. There should be some sort of way to see a friendly spy while they are cloaked. I would agree with LF on this.

It is quite easy to see a friendly spy when they are cloaked... they have a red or blue sheen around them. I just generally ignore them.

I guess I am too busy paying attention being a shock trooper and storming the opponent's checkpoints to notice .

Are you sure? I just see a vague silhouette when they are really close, like if I was looking through a curved glass or something like that. They're quite obvious when they go in and out of cloak, there's like a puff of smoke. But after that they're pretty much as invisible as the enemy's spies to me.
