I must say I'm surprised that this thread haven't popped out yet.
So to the point: Julian Gollop - the guy who created among others X-COM series, Laser Squad and Lords of Chaos Kickstarted a new turn-based strategy and unlike most kickstarters he has even presented a playable demo (although you'll have to wait for few/several minutes to find out another player/s)
What's surprises me most is the fact that response is surprisingly tepid (just 4000 backers and 160.000$) - while other "spiritual successors" of famous games easily got about 0.5-4 million - even without demos.
I wonder why - maybe because of lack of coverage or maybe Kickstarter model is based more on expectations rather than actual content? Nonetheless I think this project is worthy of enough attention to put it in its own thread rather than putting it into general Kickstarter thread.
