Chatroom Rivalry

We are taking pre-cautions because of your past actions. Your not to be trusted.

What past actions!?!?!? I believe I have never declared war on/attacked anyone. Whereas you two have both declared war on me...

We declared war on you BECAUSE you threatened to take one of my cities and moved a unit outside of it.

Also, Gainy these are the terms...

Any unit seen outside of your bordors (in my general direction) is a declaration of war against me. I have settlers trying to settle within the area and I will not trust you to run amuck inside of the area with them. Any exploration in my direction will cease immediantly. This is neither unfair... nor over-demanding.... I will not trust you to explore around while some of my newer cities are week. It's as simple as this... You stay inside of your area... and I'll stay within mine.

Gainy your recent movement of units goes against the conditions stated above. As I said I would, I have acted to remove any threat to the carthagian people.

As also stated above.... Your recent movement is a Declaration of War against the carthagian people.

 Here is my perspective...

Besides me not being able to see anything, I thought your rules were that I could stay there for one turn. I wasn't intending to stick the the rules anyway, but when I do, and you attack me, I find it disturbing :crazyeye:

Boots, I urge you not to declare war on me also. I'm not going to be able to take any of Strider's cities, as he has Numidian Mercs. He is the one who declared war on me. You're NAP would be backfiring...

Can you not read? The "rules" was that not unit of your's was to see outside of your boundary's in my general direction. Moving that unit closer to me was a clear violation of the rules.

Do you have an attitude problem... boy? ;)

The rules you posted were different from what you said/we discussed in the chatroom (which I asked you to copy and paste). You said to me that I could stand next to your archer(s)/border for 1 turn. If I had not moved after that, then you could attack me. I did not read your rules post, as I assumed it was going to be the same. Never once did I agree to me not being able to move units outside of my territory. Boots is right next to me on the east, I have no-where else to go.

You stay inside of your area... and I'll stay within mine.

I was ~the same distance to my capital as yours, plus, it wasn't in your territory - I was equidistant between our two nearest cities.
That was simply an excuse for you to weaken my army, and kill an elite.

Anyhoo, it's only a game :)
Onto Strider

You never agreed to the first deal with to begin with... and I DID tell you inside of chat what the new "deal" was and you told me that if I was to serious... to post it on here.... and that is what I did.

Well I stopped listening after a while then ;)
My point is, that you shouldn't give justification for war just because of some rule(s) that you've made up, and that haven't been agreed upon. I wouldn't mind if it was just me against you, but because of your NAP, I got worried. Since Boots is staying neutral though, i'm not too bothered. Case closed :hammer:

I'll make the rules for as long as I've got the muscle to back them up. Also, it doesn't matter if you agreed upon them or not. I told you what I "might" do if you failed to obey. You decided to call my bluff... and you were wrong.

Also, yes... this is a game, but I prefer to make it more "interesting" to whoevers reading this thread ;).

I didn't think I was calling any bluff, because I thought i was allowed to go there (for a turn). If I knew you were going to do that, then I wouldn't have moved there...

I'm not arguing that point, my point is, that I didn't want Boots to be dragged into a war under unreasonable circumstances. You can do whatever you want to :)

Trust me... boots is staying out of it for expansion purpose's only. If he wasn't worried about his own expansion... He'll be attacking you just as I am.

You're just trying to turn me against him ;), although I know you are completely right. I would do the same in his situation also...

Save passed to bootstoots... the game should be moving again now that I'm back home.

Passed to Gainy. Just a note to him, I moved a worker and warrior over to the border to build a road. I'm hoping that he connects it on his side so that we can trade resources.

Here's a pic of my territory, and yes, i had been drinking when making it ;)

yoyo.gif

Boots, i'm happy to trade with you :) I'll build a road to connect us also...

Alright, well, I just started my attack on Gainy (the treaty expired a turn or two ago). My troops have advanced and have sacked his easternmost city (killing a warrior inside) and also killed his spearman guarding his worker building the road, carting away the worker, and are currently advancing toward other cities. This was a total sneak attack, using the road that I connected for "trade purposes". ;)

Gainy, I hope you don't permanently lose all trust of me because of this dastardly deed, even if you (understandably) don't trust me during this game. ;)

Ok, good... alls going as planned. ;)

Oh well
I just said that to try and get sympathy, obviously didn't work
I'm going to fight till the end! :)

edit: Save's onto Strider btw

Save is back to bootstoots.

We were planning on attacking at once, but boots didn't have the force's... so I declared war and held alot of mine back (I was waiting to get iron connected)
