Chieftain Zulu SG

Ok, I'm playing it now. I'll have to make it quick, since it's getting really late.

1325 AD - (0)

Micromanaged for a +1 increase in gold per turn (total of 16). Bought a temple in Ngome. (They need a worker, then a settler). Bought another temple in Swazi (settler is next). We don't need those horsemen (seeing that the middle ages are taking over, and they're very weak units, they can be disbanded. Besides, we need to concentrated on expansion (domination victory) and our income - more science). I did keep our one elite horsemen.

1330 AD - (1)

Built some temples, and started harbors on cities with no growth.

1335 AD - (2)

Starting some cities on marketplaces (we're really going to need some money if we find any other civs.)

1340 AD - (3)

Nothing of interest.

1345 AD - (4)

Nothing of interest.

1350 AD - (5)

Learned Chemistry! Education in 4 turns.

1355 AD - (6)

Settler "built" in Swazi.

1360 AD - (7)

Palace expanded. Road to grapes built. Island discovered to the south!

1365 AD - (8)

Another island is spotted to the south-east. Tsingao is building an aqueduct but has no harbor!? Going to build a harbor in 3 turns. Education in 1 turn.

1370 AD - (9)

Horsemen appears from barb camp. Warrior (conscript at the hill).

1375 AD - (10)

Conscript dies.

1380 AD - (11)

Move improvements. Palace expanded. A better warrior is built (we can upgrade later).

1385 AD - (12)

Warrior becomes elite! :)

1390 AD - (13)

Infrastructure improvements.

1400 AD - (14)

Goden Age has ended. (now we really need gold!)

1405 AD - (15)

Science lowered. Physics in 4 turns. (We must be behind in tech or something).

1410 AD - (16)

Forbidden Palace is built!

1415 AD - (17)

Umfolozi has no growth! Building a habor. Upgraded galley to caravel. (We can put that extra settler on now). Isipezi founded.

1420 AD - (18)

Zimbabwe switched to Corpernicus Obs. (6 turns). We don't really need Leo's Workshop, since we don't have too many out dated units (and by the time we have enough gold, it might be better to just build a new unit). Umata goes down 1 pop point due to disease. Caravel is on its' way to that island.

1425 AD - (19)

Disease strikes Umata. If that city dies, build another one in the same spot (but not with the settlers in the Caravel). Magnetism in 7 turns!

1430 AD - (20)

With marketplaces and some micromanagement, we now have 13 gold per turn.

There's a caravel to the north (between Umata and Hlobane) that has 2 settlers and a swordsmen. There's one one that main island already. Take the ship and found two cities at the sites I selected. Preferably, the one by the salpeter and iron, and the other where all of those bonus resources are. We can settle in the north, and that tiny island later. (As well at that island next to Ngome.

I've also rescued our economy from a near collapse after the Golden Age was over! *phew!* Also, don't mine game! Plant forests on them! :) (It's 2 sheilds vs. 1).

BTW, Ngome is build a caravel. Switch that to settler, since another caravel is being produced in Intombe. Bring that caravel down so that you can build on that island west of Ngome. (also, remember to build harbors on those islands!)

We also need the republic for banking.

Here's the save:D Don't have time now for detailed report, but here's basic. Made contact with the French, Russians, India, and English. Built alot of new cities, found some new islands, Built Sistene Chapel, and Copernicus's Observatory, got new techs, got treasury up to 700 and something, and lot's of other stuff. :D Found that settlers were best thing to build, don't want to build military yet, and want to expand. Didn't trade our map, and are getting lots of GPT from other civs. We are at the top:cool: Other Civs are behind us in tech, and all 4 are on one continent. None are very big.

For next player, expand onto many islands, I tried to set this up. And explore oceans to find islands. Triremes and caravels can go on any type of water now that we have Astronomy, I think. I know they can go anywhere, but forget tech. Economies going good. Tech is like every 4 or 5 turns, and we've got money pouring in. I love Chieften:love: It's so wonderful.

Also, sorry, don't know what I was thinking, but built a settler on the tiny island with 2 cities. Bring a ship there from somwhere and get him. He's fortified by a city.

Here's a detailed summary-

Trade spices and wines to France for 11 GPT. Trade wines and spices to India for 30 gold and 7 GPT.

11. Discover Banking, start on Navigation.
