Just a few notes ie Great Lighthouse

Astronomy makes it possible for galleys to traverse sea squares safely. It sounds like your close to that and the ability to finish truns in sea is really teh main beneifit of the Lighthouse. That only leaves the extra movement point.
Both Navigation and Magnitsum (which ever you resarch first) allow Caravels to traverse ocean suqares, navigation allowing Magellans Voyage, and Mangnetisum cancels the effects of the Lighthouse.
Really theres not enough life left in it now to make much use.
I would say your FP is more important than it anyhow.

I don't know what happened to Octavian. I PM'd him yesterday telling him it was his turn. I suggest just going ahead Chieftess. Its been his turn for what, 3 days?

BTW, is anyone getting strange "PM notifications" with no PMs? I keep getting one, and there's no messages. (Maybe it had to do with the board being down or something? - something was reset..?)

I just closed down and restarted. Everything seems fine now.

Okay, I've got the game:D
 
I don't really have time to do anything good, so here's the outline of whay happened.

We discovered Theology,Invention, and Gunpowder, are working on Chemistry.
Built Tugela, Umtata, Umfolozi, and Ibabanago. We destroyed the Chinese, and built SunTzu's in Bapedi. This triggered a GA:confused: I guess no Impi's ever won.
I started the FP at Athens, it should be done in 17 turns. I changed the Palace place holder to the Sistene Chapel, and started Leonardo's Workshop.

For the next player- I realized I didn't do anything towards Caravels after I played, sorry.:rolleyes: Go for that, and the galley by the islands should go to the north of the uninhabited island, I think there may be a path to other lands there, if you look, there's no ocean, just sea.

got it, will have to post tommorrow. i just don't really have the patience for it right now, if i do later will try to post today, but definatly tommorrow.
 
Here's a map of some possible expansion sites. Red dots are a must settle, and white are a possibility. There's also a barb hut to the north (I pointed it out on my previous screenshot) that would be a good city location.) Also, don't neglect that one island with iron (to the west of the small southern island). (sorry for the low quality screen shot - I had to get it below 500k).

BTW, that area in the jungle is going to require a lot of clearing, but concentrate on the northern part of the continent. I also think that we should put a few settlers on ships just in case we find any uninhabited land. It looks like we're in good position for a domination victory!

i can't type a summury right now, i hurt my rest about 6 months ago and it hasn't heeled yet. it has started acting up lately and i'll have to try to type it some other time if you still want it at that time.

here's one or two things. we have saltpeter now. the barb camp is gone, and a settler is on the way. we got two techs, don't remeber what right this sec.

Chieftess: you can get much better quality pics that take up less memory by saving your screenshots as JPEG files and not GIF ones. I hope that helps! :king:
 
Ok, I'll get the file and play tonight. I think it's my turn in another SG, so I'll see if I can fit both in. (I have to go to work in about 30 minutes, and tomorrow morning)
 
Anyone know what happened to Octavian?
