Well if I know anyone who were abused as children, they haven't told me.

So how should I respond?

I needed results of the poll and some stories. I've got a story and a quote, and I've included the results in my friend and my speech tomorrow.

In case you need more:
One of my friends got beaten as a child by her mother (not the father). Not sure what exactly the situation there was, because apparently her parents were also travelling a lot (independently, due to work), and were for some time divorced.
There was apparently also some mental/verbal abuse, but I'm not exactly sure about it. Parts of it must have consisted out of ...er...not giving enough appreciation/love (think she said her parents never said that they loved her), together with a widely...er...instable life (family lived in different countries [due to work], children lived for quite some time at guest families).
Currently in psychiatric care (ambulant).
