Pillow Talk from the Harem of Tipu

Tipu Sultan of Mysore enters his harem late one evening
Tipu: Sweet wife come, embrace me!
Hazarat: My Lord. I run to thee. My soul embraces my beloved even you enter.
Tipu: Come sit and we shall drink the wine of love and breathe the air of happiness and joy.
Hazarat: My sweet Lord.
Tipu: Did you hear? It starts tomorrow.
Hazarat: Yes my Lord, word of it spread like fire through all the palace. Everyone is amazed and pray for success. To put all faiths as equal in your eyes and the eyes of your ministers is a bold move. Have the mullahs objected?
Tipu: A few of the old school teachers raised a fuss, but they understand my dervish ways and have agreed to give it some time. Two, al-Habib and blind Mukmar, asked to leave. Their wishes were granted and they are off to Muscat when the wind is off the land. If it goes well, we will unite all Mysore to work as one and prosper. Read to me my sweet…
Hazarat:
Today
The vegetable would like to be cut
By someone who is singing god’s name.
How could Hafiz know
Such top secret information?
Because
Once we were all tomatoes,
Potatoes, onions, or
Zucchini.

As she finishes, Tipu takes the book of Hafiz poems and lays it aside. His left hand makes a deft sign and the candles are extinguished one by one and darkness catches lover and beloved and carries them far away.

Louisiana invades the Kingdom of Hawai'i and takes it, but not after some strong resistance and a couple of rebellions they were "forced" to brutally crush, which got unfavorable reporting at home( -Hawaii as a nation, -5 Louisianian Squadrons and 3 Divisions, -1 Louisianan confidence)

The Russians train the majority of their army, and the other parts watch, so the whole army becomes tolerable(+ Training Level)

The Portuguese invade and take The Kingdom of Benin without much of a fight, securing the valueble Benin City. So the Portuguese were happy....for now.(- Benin as a nation, +Benin City to Portugal, -1 Portuguese Division and 3 Squadrons)

An Omani civilian found out about the new Ottoman UU, but he was shot through the heart by someone unknown. THe paper with the name and description was in his breastpocket, so the bullet went through it, so the only legible part was "The Ottoman Ass".

The Japanese made a mark with there opening ports to the outside world, testing their new tactics and flaunting their new power by using 10 divisions to subdue the northern section of Japan, and dispatching their new modern ships to secure the part of the Northern Island that the Qing didn't control, quickly establishing their soveriegnity over the half they took. (-2 Divisons)

Scandinavia has built a line of Defensive forts on the Denmark-Prussian Border.

The Peruvians discovered the Galapagos Islands, but Guatamala and the Louisianian Empire both also made claims and sent troops.

The Lombardian invasion of the Italian Republic was unexpected and met with differing responses. The Lombardian Attack on Sicily caught the Italians off guard, and the large island was lost after months of fighting(-3 Italian Squadrons, -1 Lombardian Squadrons, -3 Italian Divisions, -3 Lombardian Divisions). The daring attack on Naples itself though, was a complete failure for the Lombards. They assualted with 3 Squadrons, but before even any soldiers could be landed, they were decimated by the Italian Navy, which had just completed 5 brand spanking new ships and had two others there, sunk the ships. (-3 Lombardian Squadrons, -5 Lombardian Divisions, -5 Conscript Divisions). This was known as the July 4th Massacre. But it was a boon for the Neopolitans to not have the landing party, as most of their troops were on the front lines, defending their cities from the Lombard agressors. They held lines in front of the city, and held them strong, and the fighting was fierce(-2 Divisions from each side). But on August the 7th, In the rural villas of Italia, the Lombards broke through the lines, and moved down the Peninsula, seemingly unstoppable, forming what would become known as the "Shoelace Operation". (-4 Italian Divisions, -2 Lombardian Divisions). The War of Italian Unification as its known to the Lombards, and the War of Lombardian Agression as it was known as to the Italians, was underway.

The French launched a daring attack on The British Empire in conjuction with the Dutch. The French captured the Morrocan British City, and then using surpirse INLAND attacks, took the two smaller outposts(-4 French Divisions, -5 English Divisions)

But the French assualt on Sierra Leone was a dismal failure. The British had time to prepare, and it was a much more "civilized" area. The beaches were heavily fortified, and the Battle of Sierra Leone began. The French force easily knocked out the 2 British Squadrons it seemed were defending, and proceed to try to send in landing parties, amidst fire from the fortifcations. Then, 3 Squadrons, utilizing rocck outcroppings , came behind and decimated the French Squadrons, and then The British divisions and Squadrons Bombardment wiped up the French deployed forces, taking an enourmous amount of prisoners. (-5 French Squadrons, -6 French Divisions, -3 British Squadrons, -1 British Division)

The French Invasion went suspiciously well, with the British Lower Antilles falling quickly and with few causlites on both sides.(-1 Squadron and -1 Division for both sides) Some British prisoner named Nigel was babbling about, "Cue Bah, U wer sup Ozed tooh bee in Cue Bah." But Julien wasn't that good at English. He thought the Englishman was challenging him to a game of pool. But in fact, the British in the Lower Antilles had been informed of the French Invasion of Africa, and had been dispatched to Cuba to Rendevous with and destroy the French fleet. But the French Fleet wasn't at Cuba, only a token force of 1 Squadron and 2 Divisions. The British swept in and took it, fortifying the island. The French, returning to Havana for a stop, found British ships the the harbor. A large battle ensued, with the British being driven from the east portion of Cuba, the held on to the western portions. (-4 Divisions for the Enlgish, -3 Squadrons for it, - 5 Squadrons, -4 Divisions for the French)

No continetal European attacks have happened yet, each side waiting for the other to make a move, and the allainces what to respond. Hopefully, cooler heads will prevail, but this has to potential to engulf the world once more. The Indian Ocean Fiasco and the other events could propel the world to anyother Global War.

The cannonball cares not who it hits, only that it hits. - Admiral George Charles

The Cannon balls go bump in the night
Squishing all that aren't out of sight
- Admiral Chirac

The world had gone absolutley mad.

The French started a war against Great Britain. Who knows why? Their First Consul dictator was a smart guy. He was what we like to call, "a military genius". But on the other side of the Channel is The United Kingdom, who still remembers the pre-Global War golden age. They remember the glory, the prestige, the power. They are revanchist in the extreme, focused on industrializing there economy to fight the power, stick it to the French. Prime Minister Richard Sheridan came to power on his anti-French, pro-English sentiments. They were re-arming, but it looks like Napoleon made the first move.

Forces were dispatched to Africa and the Americas, but that was more of a sideshow, a distraction, a pawn ment to draw attention while the rook got into petition. Then, in the Spring of 1815, the Pondicherry Quadruples were dispatched. These were 4 large forces that left the French Protectorate to attack the British. The first of these forces was headed for British Persia, with 8 Squadrons of Naval Forces. They went to bombard the British the British ports there and set up and embargo. But Napoleon had delegated the specifics of this to his Admiral Julien-Francois, who had made a great plan, without looking at the big picture. If he had looked at the big picture, or even a bigger map, he would have seen the little Indian Ocean state of Oman. Now, Oman traded alot with the Brits, and would have quickly adapted to trading with the French. But the French blockade of the strait of Hormuz to them was unacceptable. They had a coastal empire to maintain, and having a large chunk of their forces caught behind a French blockade was not making them happy. They coul have of course, ASKED the French to let them through, but Said bin Sultan is a paranoid man. He thought the French were working with the Portuguese to take Africa from the Muslims. Then, when his contacts in Merina told him about a French Squadron and a French Divisions being re-deployed there, and this (coincedentally) coinciding with a Portugese build up of there forces. Said bin Sultan was very disturbed by these developments. He had just modernized his navies, made treaties with those of the Horn, and was about to extend a hand of Friendship to the Ottoman Empire.

So Said bin Sultan approached the British Admiral there, Admiral George Charles. He proposed they break the blockade together, on the condition that Britain not make any moves in the future on Omani Colonies. Of course, the Admiral had no right to do this, but he did it anyway. He even made a fake treaty and he and the Sultan signed it. Then, together, they attacked the French forces, , and their combined fleets numbered 20 Squadrons, easily crushing the French Blockade.(-3 British Squadrons, -2 Omani Squadrons, -4 French Squadrons, - Bandar-E Abbas Eco Center) But the damage to the Persian Ports was astronomical, and

The Omanis then headed down to Zanzibar, and unbenownst to them, they were followed by a French Fleet that was angry over the breaking of their blockade. The French Admiral Chirac, who was a bit nutty from spending to much time around the rhyming people of Mysore, knew he needed to re-prove himself to the First Consul. So he was going to meet the Omani fleet, crush it, and take Zanzibar and maybe some other lands for the French Crown. So as the Omani were docking, and the French were moving in, the Portuguese force had Zanzibar in its sits. The Trilateral Battle was about to be under way.

Admiral Chirac was approaching the islands, he could see Stone Town. He spotted what he thought to be the Omani fleet, and order his own armada to engage the enemy. It was a foggy day at sea, so Admiral Capelo of the Portuguese Flotilla was surprised when he saw the outline of ships on the horizon, so he ordered his men to engage.

The Naval Battle was a grueling on, both side wondering why the other one was trying to get in Troop landing position towards Stone Town. They fought for hours, blowing ships to bits with Cannon. Around noon the fog finally lifted, and Admiral Copelo, recognized a burning flag in the water.... a French flag. Then there came a shout from the crows nest. "The Omani!". Out from behind Mafia Island, a few miles down the coast, came 3 Squadrons of Omani Ships. There were barely even a combined 1 squadron of Portuguese and French ships left. The Trilateral Battle ended when The Omani wiped the floor with the reaming forces, capturing both Admiral Chirac, and Admiral Capelo. (-3 Portugues Squadrons and Divisions, -1 Omani Squadron, -4 French Squadrons.)

But while the Omani were rejoicing, the Portuguese had another trick up their sleeve. They moved their forces in on the mainland, and made some serious advances taking barely any casulities.

But word trickled around about the Portuguese invasion of Omani territory, The Mysorians acted on their promises to the Omani, and with a superior force, invaded and seized Goa from the Portuguese. It was a hard tough fought battle, with many causalities on both sides. (-4 Portuguese Squadrons, -4 Portuguese Divisions, -4 Mysorian Squadrons, -5 Mysorian divisions). But afterward the Mysorians SEIZED the Portuguese officials, and literally shipped them back to Portugal.

While this was going on, the French were continuing the attack with the Second Forece from the Pondicherry Quadruples. It was a Pincer move, with 12 divisions of the French and 6 Squadrons attakcing and taking Rajahmundry from the British. The fighting was not that heavy, but both sides still took some casulities(-4 British Divisions, -3 French Divisions, -1 French Squadrons, -2 British Squadrons)

Then, the Third Force invaded and conquered Chittagong with the same tactics(-4 British Divisions, -4 French Divisions, -1 French Squadrons, -2 British Squadrons). The French then tried to incorporate it into the "republic", but they didn't count on Burma having life. But King Bodawpaya had revanchists wants and needs, and he saw his opening. He raised an (+5 Divisions), and then he invaded Chittagong. The French Victory would have been easy, if fact it almost was, but then the civilian population of Chittagong rose up to help the Burmaese, and the victory was for the Burmaese. But the retreating French Squadrons bombarded the city into the ground, so it was no longer of any value.(-9 Burmaese Division, -8 French Divisions, -10 Chittagong Irregular Divisions, -3 French Squadrons)

The 4th Force then met up with the Dutch, and went to Singapore. The French had orders to bombard and destroy, but the bombardment was forced to stop when the DUTCH came off their ships and occupied the Penisula.(-5 Dutch Divisions, -5 British Divisions, -2 British Squadrons, -2 French Squadrons, -5 Dutch Squadrons). This angered the French, as trade was not diverted, it mearly went into Dutch coffers(+ 1 Dutch Eco level). The Dutch then Invaded British Guyana, as a "side trip"(-3 Dutch Divisions).

The Invasion of the Phillipines did not go as planned though. The British were very ready for the invasion, having set up fortifications and have Admiral Sinton set up some great tactics. The Battle for Manila was not really at Manila at all, but infact around Dumaguete in the Island of Negros. The combined Dutch-French Fleet was drawn in, and attack what they thought was 2 Squadron fleet. They were of course convinced their 23 Squadron fleet would win. And it was. But then 2 Squadrons came out from behind the Island of Cebu. This didn't make much of a difference, but caused the Dutch-French Forces to re-postions. Then 2 Squdrons came out from behind them Camiguin Island, and opened up on the Dutch French. They were surrounded on threes sides, taking balls from all directions. They began to retreat, when ANOTHER 2 squadrons came out from Illigan Bay and attack them again. The French-Dutch Fleet was taking heavy causilities, so they began to retreat. Then fortifcations on Siquijor Island opned up Cannon fire, bombarding the ships. The French Dutch went into full retreat, but then out of Sindangan Bay came 2 more British Squadrons. They French-Dutch Fleet was destroyed without mercy. (-6 British Squadrons, -8 French Squadrons, -15 Dutch Squadrons, -10 Dutch Divisions). The war was on, though how big it would get is unknown.
