Cities in Development (Obsolete)

I think that all crimes should effect unhappiness in some way.

I've had an idea for a CID version of the Satrap's Court in my head and, since I'm never going to get round to making it myself, I thought I'd suggest it here:

Satrap's Court
Replaces Manor
Available at Code of Laws (Maybe - would help balance out the reduced Dignitary slots)
+10% Loyalty in the city (subject to balance, especially since the latest update)
Only one Dignitary slot
+1 Dignitary point
Removes combat penalty from colony units (the Satraps were allowed their own army, but this detail isn't the centre of the UB)

If you're not interested, I'll have a go at it...eventually.

Sorry if this has been brought up before, but I wonder whether Sovereignty would make certain crimes... Disappear. If I decide to promote Secularization/ Grant freedom of speech, would that remove the penalties from Heresy?

Possibly, however, Secularizing actually eliminates Crime from Heresy, since by its nature heresy cannot exist in a secular nation. This is why Piety update must come first.

If you get an idea, then by all means.

Satrap's Court would make sense as a Magistrate's Court (literally, the same historic function). However, Jan is really attached to the Satrap's Court as a Bank, so I dunno. I'll make a note of it. Having it produce Loyalty is actually a really good idea.

Jan is attached?

@Idea: well, I imagine it would make sense if... Well, the mechanic is "crime", not "criminals". I had an idea where crime could effect unhappiness via a modifier, based on the amount of population in the city.

(Though I fear this might make happiness too much of an issue in the late game)

Quick update:

  • Puppets now give +20 Base Loyalty (equivalent to a Courthouse, however, they still half disloyalty from occupied Pop.)
  • Base Loyalty for conquered Capitals is now 10, and for other cities 30 (so, unless you have Military Caste or something, you should always puppet a Capital). Let me know if its still too low, but I think Sovereignty will be home to more adjustment.

Actually, I think this is a good idea. First, it punishes tall empires, and they're already more powerful than wide empires early game. Also, unhappiness :c5unhappy: doesn't matter much late game, as ideologies give so much happiness.

What is the situation regarding CBP at the moment? (Overlapping Leader and Building changes.) They also have the Forum Magnum over there.

Also I am non-plused by the idea of more great people. Especially since CBP already has the great diplomat. Is there a user option to disable them? (the whole of claims section I guess?)

Would you consider rolling the two together into the civil servant as in CBP? Do we really need dignitaries *and* magistrates?

Just some questions. Should have time to test soon

I thought the Forum Magnum is a CSD thing? As is the Great Diplomat. I haven't gotten to compatibility with CSD, but with CBP it's fine. I intend to merge the Great Diplomat and Great Dignitary with CSD, however, that'll take some thought.

Well, I love more great people, so I guess you'll have to suffer :p Or disable Claims. I'll keep the Great Doctor separetely toggleable from Health, as he I don't consider as crucial. I can't do the same with the Great Dignitary, as Dignitaries are critical to the component. Great Magistrate is only there if you use E&D.

Appears this has broken IGE. I know that's not your problem, but the modding community is normally very good about compatibility. Gonna post in that thread, but it's pretty dead.

Ummm... About health, will you add a Great doctor GP?

Can somebody help me?

PS. There is no loyalty, because I set loyalty only for colonies.

I'd wager it was something else, because IGE is indispensable to me - so if it broke I'd know about it and have fixed it before release. You could describe the issue exactly?

No, Natan, of course not :p Literally, two posts above you....

IGE is indispensable to me as well, and you are AMAZING when it comes to cross-compatability with mods.

When I would click IGE, it would give a message along the lines of "x is blocking ige from working" basically "it's broke cause of this file path" which directed (if i remember correctly) to
ClaimsColoniesCrimesAndHealth/Shared/LUA/UI/Overrides/

It was the file "info tool tip include" I just outright deleted the entire Health part of that file, and IGE worked perfectly fine. Which is why I believe it was this mod, because deleted the file IGE said was the problem indeed solved it.

I deleted it now, but I'm going to try and go grad the old version from my recycle bin and test out what the issue was EXACTLY to give you better feedback.

For the EUI compatibility, it says there are 7 files that need to be copied over into 'overrides.' When I look at the 'Enhanced User Interface' folder, there are 10 files. I tried copying them all, but i'm now having the same problem shader301202, and I have the latest version of CID. Can anybody help clear this up? Thanks.

Yup, here ya go. The exact issue.

You need to update to the latest version of the CP. You should also update CID to v5.
