I didn't realize this at first but your city always adds 2 food and 1 production to the underlying tile now. The start priorities have shifted dramatically away from hill/ocean/mountain. As in BNW, Forest and Ocean do not matter for city yields.

Example starting yields:
3F 2P 1E - Plains River
4F 1P 1E - Grassland River
3F 2P 0E - Plains
2F 2P 1E - Desert Hill
2F 2P 0E - Grassland Hill
2F 1P 2E - Desert River (floodplains are replaced by city)

Personally, I am prioritizing rivers and plains for city settlement.

But production is so easy to come by with trade routes. Why not pick grassland for the less abundant food instead?

Grasslands are pretty good too, and may be better if you have problems getting your free colonist before you finish pioneering. I find that with Plains I am usually finishing pioneering immediately before the colonist so it lines up well. The big change is to avoid grassland hills which were a desirable location in Civ 5.
