Civ 3 Fraps Help

Ok, so I want to record a LP (Link:https://www.youtube.com/user/ImmortalCommandoGame?feature=mhee), and I have Fraps. However, due to the obvious circumstances of the age of Civ 3, it is improbable for it to work. Is there a way to get it to work?

I wouldn't expect any problems. I don't recall if I've used fraps, but I made this video turnlog using Camtasia's screen recording tool without having to do anything special. Civ3 is older, but it uses DirectDraw (not Direct3D, but both are part of DirectX), so I wouldn't expect any tricks to be needed. And if any tricks are needed, I would start with turning down video acceleration in advanced display settings' troubleshooting tab. I've used that trick a couple of times to record videos and other overlays that were initially missed with a screen grabber.

The series of videos of me installing Civ3 on Win7 in my sig were also captured by Camtasia on a fresh install of Win7 with no tweaks, and the only oddness is when I launch Civ3 the first time and the different resolution makes the screen capture look funny. After I adjust KeepRes=1 in the .ini it looks just fine.
