Hey all. I just got Civ 4 complete edition (had Civ 4 original before). And I am playing my first game on BTS. Everything is fine for a while, but then it starts crashing my whole PC (Stop errors). The errors run from eveything to page fault, memory management, driver IRQL..... and they won't stop!!! The only game thats crashing on my computer. Tried getting updates on the programs and they won't install. Please help!

Running Windows XP Pro SP3 (fully updated).
AVG 9.0 Free edition.
Intel Pentium 4 Processor (3.0 Ghz HT)
2 GB ram.
ATI Radeon X1650 512 MB video card (updated to Catalyst 9.8 according to site).

I have dropped my processes down to petty much nothing, and disabled my dual monitor...... helps somewhat but still getting bad crashes. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Sure, one of the Error events is missing. In that case I posted its bugcheck instead. These are the last 4.

According to ATI's site they ae up to date. However, this is ATI we are talking about and while I have installed the latest version (9.8) the ATI CCC still says they are 9.3 drivers...... so god only knows if they are woking right.

I heard something about a second set of drivers for ATI cards (Omega). Any thoughts?

omega drivers sometimes work wonders - so I'd give it a try.
apart from that I find some suggestions to check your memory for any damage

e.g. use memtest (http://www.memtest.org/#downiso) on a boot cd or bootable usb device and let it run overnight - see if that finds anything :dunno:

these errors seem to be unique in combination with this game so far
