basic military units will have 2 movement instead of one. so other units (like mounted) will have to move farther so that all the walking guys with swords, spears, and muskets can't keep up with them. the question is, are all the movement points doubled, or do they all have 1 point added to them?
Really? DLC for Civ? Really Firaxis?
...If this means paid for DLC, that's quite worrisome.
Starting to lose more hope for Civ5.
Then again, since Civ4 has an active modding community and is extremely easily moddable, it doesn't matter if the next installment sucks.
Yep.

Seriously, Firaxis. What the hell?
That's it. I'm unsubscribing to this thread.
I had it with the entire Civ5 board and their claims that...
*one land based military unit per tile will ruin Civ5
*the hex grid will ruin Civ5
*religions being changed will ruin Civ5
*not having Spain/Poland/Italy/Sealand will ruin Civ5.
*not being Civ4 will ruin Civ5
*one tile culture expansion will ruin Civ5
*no roads over the entire map will ruin Civ5
I had hoped to find solace in this thread, and only have to check up on it when something new was announced. Now I'm done. The comments for the announcement of Civ5 on Steam are already full of the most over-reactionary, "my mommy doesn't love me anymore," rhetoric I've seen on CivFanatics. Bringing that stupidity to this thread is just finding more soapboxes to for the perpetually angry "Civ fans" to stand on.
Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish.

Espionage - From civ 1 to civ4, espionage has never really worked all that well. I remember in Civ 1 and 2 sending transport loads of diplomats into foreign lands and stealing all their technologies when I fell behind. In Civ 3 and Civ 4, espionage really became unmanageable and was not really worh the investment. If you were behind technologically, it was hard to invest in espionage points since it took so many points to steal a tech. Plus, defending against espionage was nearly impossible. Base game only allows you maybe 3 spies at one time. Mods have removed the hard cap. However, counterintelligence just did not seem to work well in stopping enemies spies. Espionage became an annoyance and I normally did custom games to shut it off.
No, please stay. If you go away, their stupidity will win eventually. I agree all those complainers are pure boredom, but take a break and come back.
Civfanatics is a nice place, there are a lot of people who DON'T complain too and they can't wait to see what Civ 5 has in store. Go firaxis ! We love you.
