CIV Gold!

I did as instructed. But when I download it does not self extract. I have to save it and extract it with 7-zip. When I extract it routes it to the mod folder in my games, so i changed it to the correct mod folder in the firaxis games file. IT extracts a folder named $[31]. When loaded it does nothing, just the stock civs show up. Inside the $[31] folder is a civ gold folder. If i put this folder in the correct mod folder, it will show up to load, so i load it and that when the xml error shows up. I have 2 friends that downloaded this and it worked just fine. I thank you for trying to help me, but I just don't think I'll ever get it to work.

What version of the game are you playing with? If you have Beyond the Sword, the file you should be downloading is an EXE file, not a 7-zip file.

I have civ version 313, save version 301, build version 3.0.0.1. The file I download from atomic gamer is an efw file, whatever that is. I click it and nothing happens. I have to use 7 zip to open. I tried winrar but i cannot get it to work.

Are you using CA Security Centre anti-virus?

Delete the old files. Download the file again, but this time rename the extension from .efw to .exe.

Just rename it - nothing else. Don't use an archive tool. Then double-click to run.

FOFO13,

CA Security renames all downloaded EXE and ZIP files to the efw extension as part of its protection. In order to use these properly, you need to rename that extension to the original.

You do not have to rename it when downloading or saving. Just rename it once you have the file downloaded. Are you saying you cannot rename the file after you've downloaded it?

How's the Nature of Man add-on coming along?

Pretty well. I need 2.5 LHs and I'm ready to go. One is (hopefully) being worked on by the community. One is a crappy LH that I have to fix (it's my crappy LH). And one I am not currently sure how to do.

Did you PM me on that one? Maybe open it to the community too...

PS have you looked into using my split traits mod to diversify the leaders?

I've asked the community to help with the Pinochet I posted. That would help a lot. The last two I need are Caligula and Pol Pot. I think I have everyone else, thanks in part to an amazing Mussolini. :goodjob:

The roster will be:

- Hitler
- Hussein
- Richard III
- Mussolini
- Pol Pot
- Pinochet
- Vercingetorix
- Duvalier
- Amin
- Mobutu
- Kim Jong Il
- Caligula

...oh, so yeah, I'd need Duvalier as well...and maybe Empress Cixi of China, if possible. It'd be nice to have *one* terrible woman, at least. :p

No, I don't think I did see that mod. But I'll definitely look at it, thank you.

Is there a way to combine the 4.0 version with the mod "Rise of Mankind 2.0" or it works ond with the "vanilla" BtS 3.13? Rise of Mankind for me is an expansion, not just a mod, so i do not play Civ4 without it.

Thank you

Is answered on the RoM thread by zappara with "no, unless..." (Zappara is planning to add a number of civs.);)

The d/l link does not work... :(

As a Maori, it's pretty cool to see a Maori Civ.

Hope we did a decent job. :)

My wife is 1/32nd Maori (although you'd never know if, with the snow-white skin and red hair). That's a stretch, I know, but her first name comes from a Maori word.

Downloaded and installed under BtS mod folder.

When I load the mod, go to custom game.. only standard BtS civs are listed?

(civgold does pop up in the corner, loading civgold python etc)

Any ideas? Or just re-download?
