CIV Gold!

Sword of Giddeon,

Thanks!

BobTheTerrible,

Amra has graciously offered to help with putting this together, but I suspect it'll be available after the download is posted,

Speaking of the download...as you probably know, the Fanatics DB database was unavailable last night, causing a bit of chaos for us.

Still good to go today, however. Fierabras is packing the mod and I will post it as soon as possible.

Yeah, I didn't have access to the mod before release so I will download it when available and work on it this week. ;)

Any way to use this with Rise of Mankind?

Unfortunately I'm not familiar enough with the mod to know for certain. You may want to ask them. If they add civs to their mod, however, you should be able to use this with it (not the new leaders for existing civs, though, because that requires a new CivInfos file). The one thing is the Diplomacy file which will have to be edited because it's shared. For some baffling reason, Firaxis made all the Civ, LH, UB and UU files modular, except for Diplomacy.

Unfortunately theres a weird bug when using the civs from this mod with anything bug Civgold(you can add components from other mods to it though). At least this was the case with the previous version. The bug is that when you select a non firaxis civ you will get a random Civgold leader(from a different civ) as your leader, unless you manually select your leader, this is in custom game. I am not sure if the random leaders thing is the case in "Play Now!" Mode because I haven't tried it because I use custom game exclusively when playing Civ4 now.

As I said this was the case with the previous version of Civgold, I am uncertain if its the case with the new version. I don't know if the civs are fixed or not.

BTW I will start attempting to combine VD with Civgold soon.

Do you by any change have the game option Unrestricted Leaders checked on? If not, then it's a bug in BTS modular loading and definitely not in CIV Gold (there just isn't anything to fix for this matter!). You might find this a bold statement, but as Wyz pointed out Firaxis did not get modular loading quite right.

Very nice job done by you guys!
So many civs to choose! :-) so many of them I barley had heard about them. I am amazed at the creativity on the leaderheads some of them are brilliant! Also the civbuildings!
Because iam an scandinavian Dane-Swe I tried those, I must say I just love the UU: for the dane, however iam less happier with Danes flagg why did you creative guys use the old old bird flagg instead of the Danebrogen (white cross) which is the oldest flagg today in the world :-) and it would look much nicer than the Total War Medevial Flagg. http://forums.civfanatics.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=119533&d=1142267009
(the mod thread http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?p=3807713)
And the Swede civ color symbol is somehow inverted it should be yellow crown and blue background.
Another aspect is the English special building the stockmarked (65% income) that has a know unfair treat if we compare it to the swedish riksbank (75%) mabey they should be equal or perhaps 1 extra trade route for the englishmen they was after all a supreme trade power.
Another idea ;-) why not add Hitler as an leaderhead for the germans I would be fun and I would love to chrush that maniac ass :-D, after all if we already have Stalin,Hirohito,Gjinges Khan,Mao Ze Tsung and so on....... so why not Hitler?

Don't get me wrong guys this is just comments and no complains u have done a h*ll of a good job!

Mr Adolf H. will be in the Terrible add-on, I believe.

I'll have to go back and look at the colour combinations we used for the civs. Sometimes - because of the number of civs - it wasn't always possible to use their natural colours. The bird may have been an attempt to add a bit of flavour.

The icon in the pedia is correct, but in the game I think it's because we ran out of shades of blue for a primary, so we used a yellow as the primary instead (hence the blue on yellow, instead of the other way around).

Hmmm, thanks for pointing that out. We'll take a look.

As JEELEN mentioned, Hitler will be in an upcoming add-on, along with several not-so-great men and women of history.

Thanks again! :goodjob:

Ohh I didnt knew that :crazyeye: (I havent read all threads yet, but iam working on it :scan:

Yepp thats true the pedia is correct, and I understand it isnt easy to find colors to all civs.

Yepp its true that the bird adds some flavor but fortunantly it losens it
because of the colors that nearly go in to each other and make it very blurry, is it it possible go get a more whiter version on the bird? The red color is ok :goodjob:
But if I had to decide between the 2 versions of the cross or Bird ill would have choosen the more historical Crossed version (1219-still in use) instead of a historical discussed version of the birdflagg that was written about some munks then the dane-vikings invaded England Kong Knud 2 the Great used the bird banner at the battle of Ashington i Essex in 1016 to problaly unthil 1219 or earlier. If the bird banner was just a symbol of just that royal line is todady hard to know. (Sorry Iam an historical geek :king:) infact it was civ and other strategy games that made me historical intrested.

:nuke: If we do not know our past, how should we know that we are not making the same misstakes we did in the past :nuke:

I need some help guys, can you help me get a city list toghether for the Anasazi? I'd really appreciate it.

By Anasazi, you mean the ancient Pueblo culture? (as opposed to the modern Pueblo, Hopi and Navajo, all of whom are included in the Dinnehih Civ in Gold)

Here are 15 to start with. Please note that the names are obviously applied retroactively by anthropologists, etc.

Pueblo Bonito
Chetro Ketl
Cliff Palace
Yellow Jacket
Castle Rock
Casa Grande
Sand Canyon
Woods Canyon
White House
Elden Pueblo
Gila Cliff
Spruce Tree House
Grass Mesa
Hovenweep
Square Tower

I'd like to suggest the kiva as the UB.

Thankyou Wyz. This is actually for a Civ3 project I'm working on(A Native American themed mod) I suggested to myself that I come here for your expertise.

Do you by any chance have a Moche city list handy? Thats what I'm having a hard time coming across.

I believe CivArmy has a mod that includes the Moche. I'm actually looking for this, myself, so I will see what I can find.

General Note:

Updated the first post with 4.0 status info.

Wyz,

I don't see anything updated on the first post...I'm confused.

The link used to say 3.0 - I changed it to 4.0.

And the Leaderheads link at the bottom now goes to the Gold forum that has images for all 90 civs and 24 new Firaxis-civ leaders.
