Thanks!
BTW, if you were a nicer guy and didn't go around poisoning others' water supplies and inciting their cities to revolt, you might win an election!

For sure, the problem is that Shaka is the only other civ with Confucianism at the moment. He's pinched between me and Saladin, and the two of us have been warring off and on for centuries. He *hates* me and is friendly with Saladin. Very soon, however, Shaka will be gone, and I will have a) access to other lands, as I'm on a peninsula and Shaka's territory cuts me off from other civs and b) I have more population than Saladin, so should be able to vote myself in next time.
Anyway, other things about the expansion that I love:
Blockades: these are really annoying and force you to beef up your navy. And, the AI actually uses them! Likewise, when you blockade the enemy, they bother to do something about it, so you have to employ a decent stack of units to keep your hold.
Forts as canals: EPIC addition. Last night it took me half the time to complete two forts AND move ships through them than it would've taken me to sail to the same location by the traditional method.
AI tactics: Shaka actually had me sweating when he sent a stack of like 12 catapaults, 10 Impi, and maybe 3 axes to the doorstep of one of his cities that I had "liberated" several turns earlier. I had troops built up along his territory, and, after strategically positioning them in order to channel his stack into areas where they were easy to defeat, I struck preemptively (I had a horse archer with flanking that I wanted to try out). A few turns in, Saladin calls a vote to "end the war against the Zulu." I voted yes, as I had intended to wait a few more turns, but Shaka voted "NEVER!" and the resolution failed. Well, my macemen and trebuchets cleaned up the border within 5 turns, but it was still a good move. Forced me to go to 0% research to upgrade my swords, phalanx, and archers and resulted in my taking one city at that time rather than his remaining three maybe 10 turns later. Of course, his doom is imminent, but as far as desperate bids for regaining territory go, it wasn't too shabby, especially on noble.
AI use of spies: Shaka has been all over my largest cities with improvement sabotage (repeatedly targeting food resources) and poisoning water supply. It's not doing him much good at this point, but it's definitely slowing me down a bit. Keep spies in your cities!!!
Mausoleum of Maussollos: Great wonder. The extended golden age is excellent, as is the ability to start your first with one GP rather than two. Only problem is, Shaka screwed up my timing with that bid for his old city; I was about 5 turns in to churning out maces and trebuchets, only I had to give them combat promotions rather than city raider so I could defend my land. I'm not sure if he was anticipating this because I went to Vassalage/Theocracy and started a GA or not, but if he had waited 10 turns, he'd be dust by now.
I'm sure I'll think of more, especially as I approach the modern age and all of the changes there...
