Hello, and welcome!

The background for this is extremely straightforward - I am going to play a Civilization IV game like the moderator of a NESIOT with players broadly controlling and roleplaying the fate of their respective civilizations

I will be updating this game with screenshots of what situations are developing in your civilizations. This game is NOT a generic Civ IV game, but will have NESIOT elements added to give some flair and spur your own roleplay development. Challenges, such as what you find in BOTWAWKI, will be present to help you develop your civilizations.

I feel the need to emphasize the following:

1. You are not in control of your build orders or other micromanaging aspects of the game. You may give me generic directions (Focus military) or more specific (Be a more city state type state or rapidly expand), but please avoid "Rush settler, build warrior, build worker, rush settler, chop forests."

2. Religions can be founded and I did select choose religions however I will require you to create your own original religions.

3. Cultures will be original style cultures, but I will allow foundations of a "base". Want a culture with some French influences? Sure, and pick France. But do not BE France.

4. This is not the immortal leadership like Civ games, I would be highly interested in seeing internal development :D

-------

Joining is a first come first serve basis. I will allow up to ten players to join. This is not on autopilot as it was before.

Please provide for me the following:

The Khalim were a mostly nomadic people, and even as they founded their first settlement, their people still retained their wandering ways. For those who stay with Metharim, they seem to have found very fertile soil in their settlement, raising plants with long green stalks that provide plenty of nourishment. Scouts report that to the east, the waters teem with marine life. The Khalim are blessed with a beautiful land, and look forward to years of bountiful harvests.

The Kahdulian civilization, blessing this world for countless ages, has at last settled down in their settlement of Kahd’aya. Snow covers the treetops, which could mean for harsh winters, but the forests are filled with game and it seems that food can be easily found here. Flocks of beasts that may be tamed or hunted also reside nearby. A friendly village was found, who told the Kahdulian of the nearby area, including of a plant in the north that could bite your tongue if you ate it. Perhaps this plant could be worth looking for?

The Shai'Dawn settled on the coast, nestled in the hills of Elean'dar. The coasts teem with rich bounties, and some boats could easily be constructed to gather food for the settlement. In the distance, herds of beasts roam…perhaps they can be tamed?

On the plains of Dorjin, the Targanian people settled. Herds of both cattle and elephants roamed near the settlement, and some are eager to try taming these beasts for food. To your west, the hills contain great materials for future structures, and to the north you see the edges of a jungle, teeming with sounds. It seems you lie at the end of a river, and if you follow it south, it may lead to the coast.

The settlement of Görüsch is nestled in a clearing of a great forest. Plentiful game fills the forests, while the bounty of plants and berries can be easily found and gathered. For now, the people of Voitschmak are content, but perhaps the river may be followed to the east and they can learn more of this world they inhabit?

Spoiler :

The honorable Daghu Menyek found themselves in the clearing of a forest with a fresh lake when they decided to make their settlement Sorguz Menyek. If the forests were cleared, there would be plenty of room for rich farms. In the distance lies an ocean, while closer there are great beasts who might one day be tamed. A nearby village has also made camp, and the Daghu Menyek seek to determine who else may be with them in this world.

The Chiaramar at last have found a suitable home for their people. Though there are some concerns of the cold and how long the planting season may end up being, the soil here is incredibly lush. A flowing river that can easily be be irrigated to support several farms is also nearby, and the future looks bright for the settlement of Altor Omisais.

Nestled in the riverbend is the Jutan people. Long led by a wise chieftess, the Jutan are of particular note due to their more matriarchal society, choosing women to lead over men. A pious people, the Jutans seek to honor their deity Kapur with their settlement. To the southeast, beautiful gemstones can be plucked from the Earth, while nearby great beasts that can be hunted or perhaps one day tamed? The coast lies nearby, and it seems the seas are teeming with a rich bounty.

The Qoyandhul people settled in a strange land surrounded by a peculiar plant. When one ate the plant, their mouths would burn. The plant was not very nourishing, but many a hunter paired their kills with the plant for a peculiar taste. Perhaps in the future, these plants could prove useful to Biyodhicimaqan?

For the Amalthusia, the people were blessed by good fortune. At the mouth of a great river, their lands were fertile and full of rich game, and its hills were bound to be full of mineral wealth. Though a winter chill could be felt, it seems that Amalthusia will have plenty of food and wealth for years to come.

Spoiler :

At last, the people of Somerland. Settling their outpost Monsat, food can easily be gathered in this region. The river provides plenty of fresh fish, while other foods can easily be gathered. In particular the hills near Monsat seem to have delicious grapes growing on them, grapes which young children seem to especially enjoy.

For now these “civilizations” are barely different from one another, and barely a step up from the scattered tribal villages that dot the landscape. Yet the world is young as well. Will your civilization bring forth an era of prosperity, or an age of darkness? That is for you to decide!

-----------

Chieftain's Challenge (Note: Starting next turn, you will be getting unique challenges based on your civilization, but for now you must first decide where you will start):

Your wisdom seekers approach you and ask for your guidance on what your people should focus on first. They can focus on harvesting new foods, creating new weapons, communicating with the spirits and gods, or developing local resources (this may overlap with new foods). What should they focus on?

Please answer within the next day or two.
---------

You may also indicate which direction you wish to scout. As for further descriptions, for now perhaps some linguistics would be good? Words for things like King (or Queen) or some basic mythology would be cool :) Nothing too developed yet of course though! If you do choose Spirit, I do expect a bit more emphasis on what your religion is about.

Föklurah's Challenge: Our people will focus on communicating with the Ethereal Plane, as they are quite content.

Also, scout east towards the river.

Mythos:
Spoiler :

The people of Voitschmak believe in the Ethereal Plane, also known to them as Daerke. According to them, the ultimate goal is to ascend to another state of existence and live an eternal live there on Daerke together with all other humans, who will eventually in one form or another ascend. For them, this ascension can be achieved in many ways, but the most dominant one is through cleansing oneself in the waters of Kliv, the son of the River God Klivär. Rain water is holy and must not be defiled, as it is the souls of those people who did not ascend. If these souls are drunk by the human, they will be taken over to their children and their children's children until one soul occupies one body. Then the divine and natural process of cleansing is ended and that of ascension can begin.
Preffered Symbol: Hinduism, which is actually the symbol of the River God

The sheep and the forests will be what drags us out of the mud, and into a life of glory. Focus on developing our (admittedly quite lackluster) resources and clearing the forests.
