The Khalim
The Khalim explored to their south, eager to learn more about the world around them. A group of Khalim warriors were able to extort a gold tribute from a local village, as well as knowledge of some strange berries in this land. One of the warriors who tried it instantly spit it out, though another enjoyed it.
A strange encounter occurred and the Khalim met some strange folks from the south. They spoke in an odd tongue and had dark skin. The Khalim were unsure of how to communicate, but in the end did not seek a battle….for now.
As the Khalim continued to explore it seemed that this land they inhabit is a lush, green land. Though these strange visitors may be a worry, the Khalim count their blessings as they store abundant food in newly crafted pots. The Tribe of Metharim is becoming crowded and new children are born constantly it seems.
Chieftain’s Challenge: As the village grows larger and larger, some tribesmen are becoming disaffected about how crowded the village is becoming. A charismatic leader has been goading some to gather supplies so that they might make a new village close by. This village would be better than having barbarians encroach closer to our own village, but it could become hostile, as they are not tied to our will. Some advocate banishing or executing the chief troublemakers and getting the others to work, but some of the Chieftain’s advisers suggest giving them supplies and sending anyone who wishes to leave. How should we respond?
The Shai’Dawn
For the Shai’Dawn, little of importance occurred for some time. The men of the village learned to hunt, and now some are building small vessels to harvest the bounties of the sea. One group of warriors went out to the south, following a great lumbering beast to a wide open plain with plenty of game to hunt. However, perhaps even more surprising was their seeing of a small war party, just as organized as they were, to the west. Perhaps new friends, perhaps new enemies?
Chieftain’s Challenge: The hunters who went south-west report a rich bounty to be found. Hills of smooth stone, wild vines of delicious grapes, and even the sea is found! This could be a great chance to establish a nearby village to hunt these great beasts, but some at home have denounced their findings, and instead propose that time be spent constructing boats to catch the local fish and clams. The plain is so far away, and there are rumors of a tribe as great as ours close to it. Shall we expand, or should we focus on developing our local resources?
The Kahdulian
The Kahdulian quickly spread across the land, looking for other villages like they found before. The fertile lands held many tribal villages, most of whom were quite friendly. Some acted as guides for the Kahdulians, while others taught them how to harvest grains. One tribe in particular taught them how to craft an incredibly tough metal “bronze”.
Perhaps the most intriguing of these adventures though involved meeting some lighter skinned tribal warriors. The Kahdulians were intrigued….these warriors seemed different from the other villages they had met. The outskirts of their village could be glimpsed, and the Kahdulians discovered a vast body of water to their north. Interesting times lay ahead for the Kahdulians indeed…
King’s Challenge: Some of the more prominent members of the tribe have come forward with an interesting proposal. They suggest that the...lower….members of the tribe would be more productive if goaded by the whip. A replacement of the lowest caste with a new slave caste they argue would significantly increase productivity and would likely be an immediate boon to our (non-enslaved) people. Of course, this would severely alienate the less prosperous members of the tribe, and some moderating voices have called for a slave caste reserved for foreigners only (though this would require foreigners to be taken). There is also the risk that by allowing slavery, some may be able to become powerful enough to challenge the King himself. This decision could have a long lasting impact upon our society. How should we respond?
The Targanians
The Targanians started their history, seeking to domesticate some of the great beasts that roamed the plains. Though hunting them was a great past time of the Targanians, it is hope that these can be long term food sources for the people. To the south east, a vast desert was found across a great desert, with a strange aroma causing the scouts to be lost for days, while to the north a sea was discovered. For now however, Targania remains rather quiet…
Chieftain’s Challenge: With talks of taming the beasts that roam our lands, there is talks of how to deal with their ownership. Right now, it is a free for all to hunt and kill the beasts, which is not optimal for domestication. The best hunters, declaring that a ban on hunting so close would hurt them the most, have declared that the herds should be theirs to control and disperse. Some of the villagers (notably the worst of hunters) have advocated that the bounties of the herds should be shared evenly in the tribe, and others still want to avoid the conflict altogether by simply maintaining the status quo of just hunting the beasts when food is needed. How should we respond?
Daghu Menyek
The honorable and great Dhaguzyek focused solely on training the great beasts that resided near his village. He did send some trusted scouts to the south and they reported the most fertile of lands, made lush and green by a thousand rivers. They spoke of a worm that spun the softest of threads. Though little has occured now, the Daghu Menyek have certainly high hopes for the future.

The Voitschmak
The Voitschmak, seeking to understand the mysteries of the Daerke, had great contemplation at home, while scouts had great contemplation in the field. A small expedition was fitted to follow the great Kliv that coursed through Voitschmak and with salt in the air, the scouts headed north and discovered a sea.
Perhaps even more concerning though was their discovery of a new tribe, but a small distance east. Though the Voitschmak had seen scattered tribal villages before, these strange inhabitants seemed...different….least of all for the predominance of their ahyfolk.
The scouts brought word back to the Föklurah, who pondered what this might mean. The Ahaf claim that they are communicating with Daerke, and that only through meditation may they understand the will of Klivär. Perhaps the Ahaf can interpret the god’s will to these strange ahyfolk?
Föklurah’s Challenge: The scouts we sent down the Kliv reported of the strange people to the East. Though they no doubt know of us, they do not know where we are, and this could be a great boon. Some advocate that a war party be sent east, while others feel that we should pursue peace and teach them of Klivär. Others still suggest that we do nothing, and continue to hope that these strange people cannot locate our lands. How should we proceed?
The Chiarmar
The Chiarmar had for the most part quiet years. A disconcerting sight was found a bit to the south, when a hunting party encountered a nearly deserted village, with only a few inhabitants. The remnants of the village learned of the Chiarmar plan to explore to the south, and warned them, noting the fields of ice and great beasts that haunted man. They provided your party with maps and warned you to go north, which the party heeded.
Mahar’s Challenge: The deathbed of the latest Mahar saw his two children, Oravar and Aldhirlais, both highly prominent in the tribe, squabbling over the leadership. Though Oravar was a better warrior, Aldhirlais claims that Ahaljira speaks to her in her dreams. She claims that Ahaljira called her “Spear Daughter” and that only she could lead the Chiarmar. Choosing one over the other could greatly affect how faith, martial prowess, and possibly even gender will play in the leadership of our tribe. The Mahar on his deathbed is being advocated to choose between one or the other. Some feel a contest of some sorts should be created, while others feel that choosing one over the other could cause a conflict, and it would be better to choose a different tribe member. Others are hoping to find some way to compromise between the two siblings, whatever solution that might be. How should we respond?
The Jutans
The Jutan people were startled by the appearance of some mysterious tribals who prowled the edge of their community. They disappeared as quickly as they appeared though, and soon faded from memory, with a new queen dealing with a new problem. The immediate area around Kapur has been found to be a quiet and fertile peninsula, and for now the Jutan people are content.
Queen’s Challenge: The gems to the south-east are shinny and numerous, and our people put great value on them. However, the easily gathered gems are gone, and it is clear that a mine must be developed, which we know how to do. However there is some small controversy regarding the gems. Potential miners are being recruited, but they insist that due to the labor involved, they wish for a significant portion of the gems to remain theirs. This has caused controversy, as most of the miners are men. Some have suggested that the mine become property of the crown, but this would likely cause the free miners to lose interest and it would have to be staffed by slaves. Others simply advocate that there are more important matters to attend to, such as agriculture. How should we respond?
The Qoyandhul
The Qoyandhul were determined to look to the north, and encountered a long plain of ice, which the warriors hesitated to continue further through. At home, it was hoped that the strange beasts could be better coraled but the major issue came when some strange men arrived, standing on a hill nearby. They have not yet attempted contact, but they do not seem like a run of the mill tribal group...
Madaxooweyn's Challenge: These strange warriors near our lands are frightening our children. A group of men are making clubs and have offered to deliver their heads to you, while others caution a more diplomatic approach. How should we respond?
The Amalthusians
Amalthusia had a very strange discovery during their exploring. Though they had thought themselves alone in a rather cold environment, there seems to be another tribe very close by. For now though, a small work party is being assembled so that the nearby wheat crops can be irrigated and harvested.
Chieftain’s Challenge: The scouts we sent reported of the strange people to the East. Though they no doubt know of us, they do not know where we are, and this could be a great boon. Some advocate that the warriors attack, while others feel that we should pursue diplomatic actions. Others still suggest that we do nothing, and continue to hope that these strange people cannot locate our lands. How should we proceed?
The Somish
The Somish people for the most part had quiet years. A great desert to the north was discovered, and many reported strange scents in the air that would cloud their senses. A series of proposed irrigation canals was the most exciting event in Somerland until the arrival of a strange people from the east….

OOC:
Your challenges can affect civic choices, what tiles are worked (and how!), technologies and more! Be careful!
For All: Outside of your challenge, please indicate if you want to focus on
Development,
Expansion,
or Strength
Also indicate, if when you confront a different civilization, will you advocate a
Hostile, Defensive, or Passive stance. Passive will just ignore others, Defensive will act if another civ comes close to your territory, and Hostile will attack any civilization in any situation. Choosing Strength will automatically select hostile.
Please have your challenges and the other two mentioned into me ideally by Thursday if that’s manageable?
Also I apologize that some got longer sections. Just in those civs a bit more happened this round, sorry :*(
