Civ Quiz I

Just a nitpick: for standard maps it is 6, not 4 :P

Oxford (university), Wallstreet (bank), Ironworks (forge), red cross? (hospital)

Not sure about the last one, but I can't see any other; If I'm correct, anybody can take the next question.

Sorry. Let me rephrase the question then.

Assume you are playing on a Tiny world, where most National Wonders require 4 buildings. Name all of the National Wonders which require exactly 4 of something before they can be built, and state what each of those wonders requires 4 of.

Juju, all of your answers are correct, but you're only halfway there.

Oxford (university), Wall Street (bank), Forbidden Palace (courthouse), Globe Theatre (theatre), and Red Cross (hospital).

Ironworks requires a forge present in the city where it's built, but not multiple forges across the empire... I think.

Halfway?? I can only think of two more...

Edit: Cross-posted, Globe Theatre was one of them... the other one is Forbidden Palace

So the answer is:
Oxford (university), Wall Street (bank), Globe Theatre (theatre), Red Cross (hospital), and Forbidden Palace (courthouses)

Edit: Was thinking about Ironworks and whether it needed 6 forges or not, I'm going to say yes. So to add to the answer above, Ironworks (forges)

Hint: Look at the wording of the question. I didn't ask for which wonders required 4 BUILDINGS. ;)

Oh, that makes sense, lol. Can I answer again?

Edit: Ok, since I didn't get an answer, I am just going to answer again.

The eight National Wonders that require x of something where x varies on the map size (x=4 on tiny and x=7 on standard for example)
Oxford University (4 universities), Wall Street (4 banks), Globe Theatre (4 theaters), Red Cross (4 hospitals), Forbidden Palace (4 courthouses), Ironworks (4 forges), West Point (level 6 experienced unit), Heroic Epic (level 4 experienced unit)

Apparently you can have 7 lines in your signature as long as its size 1, which you seemed to have had...

I will go for it - my first attempt ever :D

Oxford (university)
Wall Street (bank)
Globe Theatre (theatre)
Red Cross (hospital)
Forbidden Palace (courthouses)
Ironworks (forge)

Also:
Palace (4 cities)
Heroic Epic (requires a unit of 4 experience)

Excludes - West Point (since it requires a unit of level 6 experience and exactly 4)

I hope I am right :)

You are. Ask away, bippukt.

Well, I will go for an easy one here :)

Name the tech which unlocks the maximum number of

1. Units in the game (include all civs and more techs other than this may be needed).

2. Buildings in the game (same conditions as above).

Well, there it is. I hope it hasn't been asked before :)

Two different techs or just one?

1. Horseback Riding or Archery, not sure which one, if I had to chose (flipping a coin...), it would be Horseback Riding
2. And do buildings include wonders? If yes, then I would have to say Masonary...

Well maybe archery as Arabia has the most units: Archer, Longbow, Crossbow, Horse Archer, Camel Archer.

Though Horseback Riding with anyone is tied for that: Horse Archer, Knight, Crussarier, Cavalry, War Elephant... so let's see if anything gives six.

Ah! Rifling gives Rifleman, Cavalry, Infantry, Marine, Tank, Mechanized Infantry... maybe even more like Modern Armor(?) but regardless that gets my vote for most units.

If by "include all civs" though you mean pretending we're some sort of super-civ that gets all unique units, then horseback riding instead, so many horse UUs. But if nothing weird is hidden in that question then just Rifling.

As for buildings, let's see... Meditation, Priesthood, and Music. All have eight buildings. :p

Seven types of monastaries, Shwedagon Paya
Seven types of temples, the Oracle
Seven types of cathedrals, the Sistine Chapel

Ignoring religious buildings then I think masonry is right: Walls, Aqueduct, Pyramids, Great Wall, Great Lighthouse

Turns out that it is not an easy one after all. My bad

Well, no-one has got both of them right until now, so keep trying. You guys are very close indeed. A few clarifications:

Two different techs or just one?

1. Horseback Riding or Archery, not sure which one, if I had to chose (flipping a coin...), it would be Horseback Riding
2. And do buildings include wonders? If yes, then I would have to say Masonary...

Nope, and they are two different techs indeed.

By including all civs I mean that you also have to include all the UUs. If it is just one single civ, then Rifling will win hands down. But the competition becomes very intense if you include the UUs.

Nice, tied first with the religious techs. (8 buildings)

Can't tell you if it's right or not ;). Do include all the religious buildings and UBs. Do include wonders (as Organized religion does).

Well, there it is. Best of luck :)

EDIT - If you feel that this helps, assume that you are playing as a super civ :P

Nope to what?

Masonry?
Or Archery?
Or Horseback Riding?

Edit: A answer and if I am correct, that's great!

Still going to stick with Masonry (all those UB's of the Aqueduct make me confident)
And a million-to-one-shot, Gunpowder (the UU's of the Musket-men making me confident again)

Concerning Rifling, I think it provides the most units though, it was its own UU's too...

Edit 2: Is this a trick question? Computers for Internet thus gives you all the buildings and units?

I already guessed Archery it was a no (well actually that's being asked about it, but I pretty sure he meant no to all of them)...

Nope, it's not a trick question. It is difficult enough as it is.

And no, Gunpowder is absolutely wrong. Please note that while you need to research before you can build infantry for example, it is NOT a prerequisite as such. Otherwise, BW and IW might win here. Consider Cavalry - Rifling is listed explicitly as a prerequisite. Implicit prerequisites do not count. Hence Gunpowder is out.

I will make it easier.

For the most number of military units, one among the following is the correct answer:
-Archery
-Horseback Riding
-Rifling

For the most number of buildings, one among the following is the correct answer:
-Corporation
-Meditation
-Masonry
-Music
-Priesthood

BIG HINT - A UB which has been discussed in this thread before makes its tech the winner :)

Now fire away :)

I already guessed Archery it was a no (well actually that's being asked about it, but I pretty sure he meant no to all of them)...

No, it's not a no to all of them. I just thought that telling you the answer to one would make it too easy. Anyway, the above options should make it easier :)
