Civ Quiz I

Alright, then destroyer is upgradable. Am I right? I accually never upgraded any, but I rarely upgrade ships.

So your answer would be:

1 Destroyer, Stealth Destroyer
2 Battleship, Destroyer
3 Submarine (ordinary, not attack submarine)

Still wrong :P

Enough guessing now, let the others try...:)

Now I get what is wrong. I messed up names of U-boots If you know what I mean. But do not count this as another guess.

I don't understand the requirement for 1, Robotics is a dead end tech not required for Fusion or Future Tech. I'll just guess.

1. Destroyer, Missile Cruiser
2. Destroyer?
3. IIRC, both Attack Subs and Subs have the same capabilities as Carvels. So, I guess both? I think Attack Subs have more, if that makes a difference.

I did that without civilopedia. Thank god I've watched pretty much every single online game ever made. and memorized the civilopedia. :p

I have stated my assumption quite clearly, so you need to make your own conclusion about what would come later ;)

And your answer to the 3rd question is unclear - is your answer both subs and attack subs OR just attack subs? Remember that you need to give all the correct options AND none of the wrong ones.

So as of now, I cannot say as to whether your answer is right or wrong - Your answer is INVALID :nuke:

*Don't look at me like THAT* :p

Well, I only have Warlords, so I don't have half of the units concerned, but based on what I know, my guess:
1. Destroyer, Stealth Destroyer
2. None
3. Subs and Attack Subs

Nope.

OK, a hint:

The answer to Q2 is not NONE. Also, not all three of the initial units can be upgraded.

C'mon guys, this is a relatively easy one :)

My question concerns the modern naval units. Please DO NOT look up the civilopedia :)

The units concerned are:
-destroyer
-battleship
-submarine
-stealth destroyer
-missile cruiser
-attack submarine

My questions are:

1. Which of these do you get the earliest and the latest?
2. Which of these can be upgraded?
3. Which of these has all the capabilities of a caravel (and then some more)?

1. destroyer (first), missile cruiser (last)
2. battleship to missile cruiser
3. attack sub (normal sub cannot carry GPs)

Here's my last stab at this:
1. destroyer, missile cruiser
2. destroyer (to stealth destroyer), sub (to attack sub)
3. attack sub (subs don't carry things)

1. destroyer (first), missile cruiser (last)
2. battleship to missile cruiser
3. attack sub (normal sub cannot carry GPs)

Correct! :goodjob:

1. You get Destroyer first, with Combustion. While going for Fusion, you need neither Stealth (For Stealth Destroyer) nor Robotics (for Missile Cruiser). After that, while going for the Future Tech, you need only Stealth. Hence, following the tech path using the assumption given with the question, you will get missile cruiser.

Earliest - Destroyer
Latest - Missile Cruiser

2. Only Battleship can be upgraded to Missile Cruiser, none of the others can be upgraded.

3. The caravel can explore rival territories, which both the sub and the attack sub can do. However, it can also transport spies, explorers, GPs etc, which only the attack sub can. The sub can carry only missiles, which the attack sub can't do.

It is interesting to note that the stealth destroyer doesn't have some of the abilities that the destroyer has, while the attack sub doesn't have some of the abilities that the sub has. Whereas, the missile cruiser has all the abilities of the battleship. Besides it can also carry missiles. So it is logical for the battleship to be upgradable while the others are not allowed to do so.

So you are up, ruff_hi.

Ooh they have changed that since warlords then (subs used to be able to carry spies). Have to remember that if I ever get round to being able to build subs in one of my games. I used to keep at least 1 caravel handy until subs so I could take missionaries and spies around the world.

Here is my question ...

You've been playing Civ all day and your sig-other askes you to put on a load of washing, wait while it finishes and then move it into the dryer. There are two loads (darks, lights) and you have to wash one - your sig-other will wash the other. The dark load is pretty large and will need to be washed on the high water mark, the light load is pretty small and can be washed on the low water mark. The washing machine only has 1 washing setter - 15 minutes for wash, rince, spin dry.

You want to get back to Civ ASAP - which load of washing do you select and why?

The darks, because despite being the larger load, dark clothing takes less time to wash. Therefore, you will not have to start as many cycles, and thus you can get back to playing sooner.

your reason 'why' is faulty. Both dark and light loads will adequately wash in your washing machine in 1 wash cycle.

I'll take the whites. Smaller load, so less I have to carry. Plus, since it needs less water, it'll have more time to dry, and not be wet.

That is, unless if the deal includes putting stuff away. Whites are a pain to sort through.

UWHabs has the correct answer (almost - but I will give it to you). The drying isn't part of the question but the smaller water means that you don't have to wait for the machine to fill up before it begins its 15 minute cycle.

@rolo - I did this thread a service - people were running out of Civ4 questions so I opened the way for people to ask other questions as long as they provide a link back to Civ4!

I prefer civ-specific questions.

Name me everything you can build that has the name of a Greek God in it.

Temple of Artemis
Statue of Zeus

Uhh can't really think of any more but I'm sure I must be missing something.
