"Trans-Continental Railway", I'm not sure whether that should be a Great Wonder instead of a tech. If it's a wonder, then what should the tech be called? Maybe there should be a follow-up tech to "Western Expansion"...

"Bilingualism", I love that one. Allows city improvement "Multi-Cultural Center". Increases happiness etc.

Wow. I'm glad you were able to get so much out of that :)

A few things:
- The small changes (wonder instead of tech, etc.) sound fine.
- Yes, use a french name instead of woodsman: Voyageur
- To answer your question, one of the first official hockey leagues in Canada ( I think) was the Pacific Coast Hockey league, but it did not last long, merging with the Western Canada Hockey League (which did not last long either). However, I would not use either, and you are right, NHL is too young to use. Perhaps just 'hockey league'?
 
It's alright. I don't mind... can't put a copyright on historical fact.. ;)

If you could, I would've patented several titles three years ago and charged Mr. Bush $1 every time he used the terms "9/11" or "September11th"... but then again, I wouldn't want to cause the financial implosion of the federal government... :mischief:
 
If you were during this time I'm sure 9-11 would be on your mouth alot as well my friend.

Partisan Politics: Depending on your approval rating, War Weariness in all cities is either reduced or increased.
 
It's not a criticism. Just a statement of fact.

Anyway, first of all, the function you have for partisan politics is not possible, and secondly, partisan politics is hardly exclusive to America.

Well, before I begin let me make it clear that it is not my intention to kick of a political and emotional debate here. Nor do I endorse the ideology of National Socialism or Fascism in any way. I am as democratic/republican as they come. You know, freedom, equality and justice for all. The whole nine yards.
Also, and this goes to our German friends here, I like Germany alot and I think alot of great and wonderful things came out of that country. Not to mention the peace-loving, freedom-loving federal republic in the heart of Europe, which befits that country very well. :)
But I am also a especially interested in history and I attempt to create a mod that gives the player a "feel" for whatever civ they're playing. Therefore, I would like to give the Germans a government which only they can choose: National Socialism. It basically works like Fascism, but there are a few extra tech advances that spring from the tech "National Socialism".

So here goes:

National Socialism allows two sub-techs:

1. Propaganda: Allows Great Wonder "Reichsparteitag"

2. Ideology of Supremacy: Allows Small Wonder "SS Ordensburg" which generates a "Leibstandarte" unit every 5 turns. Also allows production of the regular "Waffen SS" unit.

"Propaganda" allows researching "Total War", a tech which (together with the prerequisite "Rocketry" allos the Great Wonder "Ballistic Missile Lab" (a.k.a. V2 Lab" which churns out a V2 every 8 turns. "Total War" also allows producing all the "Luft 46" interceptors based upon rocket propulsion or ram-jet propulsion.

"Ideology of Supremacy" allows a tech called "Final Solution". This rather gruesome tech allows building concentration camps (city "improvement"?) and producing Dom Pedro's upcoming SS/Forced Laborer "slave" unit.

So, with this, Germany will only be able to build all the SS units, the V2, the Luft 46 interceptors and concentration camps if their government form is National Socialism. Needless to say, "National Socialism" would not be the preferred government for the Germans - but also not the shunned...

OK, your feedback is warmly appreciated. Again, please let's not turn this into a political debate, this is all about historical accuracy. Thanks.
 
I've toyed with this for quite some time, because I wasn't sure whether to give this government form to the Arabs or the Persians. After long deliberations, I decided to go for the Arabs, because the biggest Arab country, Saudi Arabia is essentially ruled according to Islamic Law, even though they're a Monarchy. It also makes sense, because today, Islamic Fundamentalism is in its militant form and truly Arabic phenomenon.

Here goes:

The Arabs start out with "Islam" as one of their civ-specific starting techs.

"Islam" together with a modern tech (still TBD), allows "Islamic Republic", which in turn spawns two sub-techs:

1. Jihad. Allows Small Wonder "Terrorist Training Camp" which generates a "Mujahedin" unit every 5 turns.

2. Sharia. Allows city improvement "Quran School". (reduces war weariness and adds culture.)

I may add more techs, but this is it for now. If you have any suggestions, go ahead! ;)
 
When it's done, it's going to be for C3C...
