Oh well ... need a directory of what's been done.

Here's one which I have been totally unable to find, the hospital:

buildingatlas_45.png

It's a very unique looking building, does it remind anyone of some well-known old hospital building?

the hospital looks surreal to me. it may be original. a lot of copying/pasting went into it (although that doesn't preclude it from being sourced)

Alright... although i feel it falls on OrsonM "duty" to keep track of whatever has been found so far.

Anyone could always add the checkmarks to both (Buildings & Technologies) or more such files as referencing.

I think the Courthouse is the US Supreme Court Building with some major cleaning up.

Nice catch, but there's a photo that's more likely a match for the courthouse on the 4th page of this thread.

To be fair, Elliot didn't mention the Supreme Court was the source. ;)

firaxis is in maryland too, so john hopkins as the inspiration makes sense

I really want to know what the building in the Medical Lab icon is. I hope someone with stronger Google Fu can find out. I have a hunch it's an NIH building.

Zyx, you're missing a few..Pottery tech stands out, for instance.

This was *only* meant as a suggestion to keep track of the whole thread (which i haven't scanned entirely, dropped some checkmarks on a few slots from memory of having seen them.)
Anybody else willing to expand on that process is welcomed to continue... can't do everything for the OP.

Resources & Units sheets (etc), for example, could be added by anyone willing to monitor progress.

Yes it's a very tricky one. I found this though

It's some medieval Holy Spirit hospital in Lübeck, although there are many differences, this could have been used as reference.

old faithful - or castle geyser in yellowstone:
i wouldn't be surprised if there's another source for the trees and or steam

They didn't even copy a picture of old faithful? wow

Yeah, let's throw in old faithful for a natural wonder, but it's not really exciting enough for an icon, so we'll use another geyser for that

the grand mesa isn't the grand mesa either (the grand mesa itself is rather featureless), and i suspect krakatoa is based on some picture of stromboli, though i can't find one with enough lighting matches to call it the source.
