Civ VI - Beta Gauntlet I

I don't think its so simple. I just tested the penultimate turn in my last game and had 23 Domestic tourists, popped a great scientist and jumped up to 26 Domestic tourists.

I may be competing for last place, but finally finished T254 last night (while attempting to escape from the election news). I'll post the evidence once the kids let me back on the computer.

This was my first civ VI game. I was almost 100 turns in when I saw the gauntlet announcement and the game just happened to meet the requirements. I'd done nothing toward a culture victory at that point, but decided to see what I could do. I'm pleased with the results given the circumstances.

I'll probably try again if I have time after the GOTM.

Here's the evidence for my T254 finish. Looks like I didn't save the first turn, as I expected this game to be just playing around to get to know the game.

Thanks for a fun challenge! Now on the the GOTM....

T104 Kandy CV
This was done pre-patch.
Got 3 relics from NW. The two NW on main continent gave additional tile yields and were easily spotted and avoided.
Coastal start with easy access to second continent trough shallow water.
Aztecs got wiped by Norway really early before I even met them (first time I saw this in these games).

I might have a few goes at a non-religious culture game now that ampitheatres have 2 slots instead of 1. I doubt it will beat these times but it might not be so bad.

A cultural city state has given me the quest of:

Trigger the (Upper left pointing arrow) Inspiration moment for the Games and Recreation civic. Reward: 1 Envoy

What does one need to do to satisfy this quest? What is an Inspiration moment? How does one trigger it?

An inspiration is the same for a Civic as a boost is for a technology, just a different name. For Games and Recreation you need to research Construction.

Thank you, mayhemster. I thought perhaps that meant researching Construction, but it just seemed too deep into the technology tree from where I am at turn 47.

How does one generate an Apostle with Martyr ability so as to generate a Relic when it's killed in theological combat?

I think the only options are
  • Make lots of apostles
  • Be Yerevin's Suzerain
  • Build the Mont St. Michael. (unlocked with divine right?)

In my second game, I found the Kandy City State. I quickly became Suzerain. The next time I found a Natural Wonder, I received a Relic and it was deposited into my Palace. When I found another Natural Wonder, I did not receive a Relic. I assume that happened, because I have no places to put a second Relic. I assume that it is gone forever, because I had no open slot for it. Can anyone confirm this?

There is a policy that provides 2 Great Prophet points per turn. I used it briefly and then replaced it with the policy that provides 2 Envoys when sending the first Envoy to a City State. Next turn, I was told to fill an empty policy slot. It is then that I noticed that the policy that provides 2 Great Prophet points per turn vanished. I did not yet have my Prophet, so I believe this is a bug. Other policies that I have replaced did not vanish like this.

Yes thats gone forever, either:

1. Stop exploring until you build a temple
2. Explore but with tile yields switched on, most wonders have an adjacency bonus which you can spot without revealing the wonder.

It means the last prophet was claimed. Once all available prophets are claimed, the policy card vanishes, as it does nothing.
