Firaxis Feature Workshop: How to Apply

As mentioned in our recent dev check-in, the team has been deep in development on some major updates for Civ VII - including changes to Legacy Paths and Victories, and a (optional!) way to play as a one civ through the Ages. These are some pretty big shifts, so we want to make sure they feel right.

To help with that, we’re launching the Firaxis Feature Workshop, a new program through Discord where we're looking to gather early input from a number of community members on in-development game features.

If that sounds interesting, you can apply here before November 17 to be considered for the first round. The more applications, the better - we're going to try and open this up to as many as we can accommodate.

We’re not ready to announce when the first session starts (it won’t be until 2026), but I'll keep everyone posted as things move forward.

A few restrictions I want to call out to help manage the program: it’s Steam-only, participants need to be able to speak English, and a Discord account is required to take part. Make sure to check the FAQ and other info before filling out the form!

More info and FAQ.
Apply here.

Persia renamed to Achaemenid Persia. Small detail but it was bugging me in regard to continuity.

Small thing, but the hightlighted goody hut thing will save many of my scouts frombad direction from their clueless leader.
Honestly, I expected some icons like resources, visible to all units (sometimes goody huts are picked by pretty random things like missionaries). But ok, that's better than before.

Ok, what are these hinting at? Border Reivers = Scotland? Terraforming Mars = Martians? Twilight Struggle = USSR?

No patch notes??? booo :P

Already signed up for the workshop thingie. Hopefully they have the sense to give one of keys to Marbozir as well. If they're looking for someone who can give them the type of feedback they desire, he's the one they should be contacting.

Really happy about making sure the rest of the civs are on par and fun, 12 civs getting mentioned is a handfull. (crossing my fingers for a "Mundo perdido" rename)

Castille be looking like: "so you are telling me there's a chance?"

Interesting that the adjustments are coming to civilizations considered too strong (Maya, Mississippians, and Spain) as well as those seen as weak (Chola, Aksum, Prussia, and Hawaii). I’m looking forward to seeing how they turn out and to trying some of them again.

I think there's no universal tier list. To me Maya were very strong before the last patch, but the new City/Town meta hurt them a lot. I really like Mississippians, because I'm a peaceful player and they allow defending with very little resources, but I wouldn't call them too strong. Spain with the new city/town meta is hard to be called even "average" to me.
