Civ4 patch 1.74 is released

i bought civ4 in 2005 , played a week then uninstalled to free up Hard drive space, ive just started playing again this week, and im running it "out of the box" with no patches, reading about 1.74, it seems id be better not bothering, does anyone know what the best Patch number to us is please ???
