YES! I hope this is good, Stronghold was great. I wish I had remembered to bring it over here to my dad's during spring break. I was a bit disapointed with Crusader, I havn't checked up on the debugging process of Stronghold 2 though.

But anyways, this should be good!

Not sure if CivCity can beat that game...

I have fond memories of playing the second one when I was little. Cool find, TF. :)

I played Ceaser 3, borrowed it from a friend. It was better than Pharoh and the greek ones, those were hard. I liked C3 the best out of the 4. Also, their are soo many games with the Romans in them.

Actualy i liked Pharaoh and Zeus a LOT more then Caesar. Pharaoh for the wonder-building and Zeus for the gods, heroes, monsters. I didn't play Emperor though... it might be good as well ...

Is Emperor as good as Cleopatra & Zeus ? Or is it worse ?

Hey PrinceScamp, I am sending you a pm....

I personaly think this will be great, and Can't wait... It is using the Same Graphics engine as Stronghold 2 and another game coming out Stronghold Legends.

Here is a quote from Sid Meier That a friend on a site for the Stronghold games found

CivCity Rome got curiously little attention this evening, for such a strange development. The game is a co-production between Stronghold series developer Firefly Studios and Firaxis. In a sense, CivCity is to Civilization as The Sims is to Sim City: a familiar series, run through a microscope.

Although the focus is substantially smaller, the presentation is straight out of Civilization. CivCity will incorporate many of the now-familiar Civilization features, such as scientific research, the building of wonders, and the management of culture and public happiness; the difference here is that the player can micromanage these elements to a degree not possible before. The goal is much the same as in Civilization – building up a society from barbarians with bone clubs to a grand, semi-enlightened empire – except on a much more focused, more personal scale.

Oh, maybe i won't get this game, I hate micromanagement most of the time, I like it when the game has good ai that can do it for you but you can still mess with it if you want.

Also, with Zeus, the cheats I found didn't work, except for the money cheat, and the voives didn't fit. It was very hard too or something like that. Pharoh was ok.

I personally think it can. Children of the Nile, the first game by Tilted Mill was extremely boring. Very complex core game concepts and little to no advanced game concepts (like cottages, religion, upgrades, use of siege units, etc in Civ4). If Caesar 4 will be like Children of the Nile, Civcity will have a lot going for it, since the tech tree supports a more gradual learning curve and thus attract a lot more people or stimulate people to keep trying.

Wow, citybuilders in ancient Rome seem to be making themselves quite a hot genre in their own right. Besides CivCity: Rome and Caesar IV, there is also a game called "Heart of Empire: Rome" to be released this year also to compete.

Should be an interesting year for the genre. Hopefully Caesar IV won't borrow too much from Children of the Nile.

CivCity: Rome has been described on more than one occasion of being a hybrid though with Civilization-style features in play. I wonder just how much turn-based mechanics like research could be implemented in such a game.

Incvisitor, this is how tech might work...

You ever played zoo tycoon? You could research stuff, but this is how.

You designate a amount to give a month, and that determines how much research is put into it, a la the speed it is researched. Like in Civ, just every month it is taken, not every 'turn'.
