I don't have ICQ, I don't plan to get it. AOL works fine for me. So if you have AOL or AOL IM add AnthoNarz to your buddy list and I'll play you anytime I have the time. The more players the better, I think a small map is best though because normal or large maps with multiplayer games take forever.

Does anyone know anything about similtanious movement for MP games? I've heard about this but know nothing about it. Seems like it would mess up the game but also seems like it would save massive amounts of time. Let me know.

I don't necessarily have faith in AOL, I'm just used to it, I like the idea of having a screenname not a number. But maybe I will check out ICQ, how do I download it? Also what can it be used for besides chat?

ICQ is free at www.icq.com And you can send files on it as well. Got a great scenario from Flatlander last night.

Don't forget Trillian!!
I will allow you to use AIM and ICQ from one program.
If you are on the internet by way of logging onto AOL you will not be able to use that screen name though. Damn AOhelL!

Rather than let the ICQ software entrench itself into your computer, install the kinder, gentler Trillion. Then get an ICQ account through Trillion. Trillion can manage many accounts. I believe that's tidier.

The only factor I can see is time difference. Being from the bottom of the world and all. it's like 7pm on the west coast is 12pm here or somthing like that

To DaveLommen. You'll need the right version of Civ2. Run it and see if there's a multiplayer option. If so, select "hotseat" from the multiplayer menu, which is for several people (all of them yourself in this case) playing on the same computer. Toy with that. Then schedual yourself into a game on these forums, and contact them at the appointed time through ICQ or some other messaging service to get everybody ready and set at the same time.

If you have Civ2 but it's not multiplayer, a patch is available to convert it here.

I was so overjoyed with finally getting an MP version of Civi, that I wanted to try and play right away!! Now I've come to my senses a bit and decided that actually my studies *are* a bit more important than playing Civi during the night and I won't be having much time to play, finishing the school year and all... So...

Btw, I seem to have Test of Time with the multiplayer option... But the last version I got is from a borrowed CD and it doesn't seem to work without the CD, not even when I have a copy of it in the drive... :-s
