Do you like the show Survivor? Have you ever wanted to play it? If so, please consider signing up in this thread for the Civfanatics Survivor Challenge. (Minus the million dollar prize... :) )

Signing up means that you are committed to checking in on the thread at least twice per day to a) participate in a team immunity challenge and b) to select someone to vote "off the island."

The immunity challenge results will be tallied at 23:00 GMT. The vote result will be tallied at 15:00 GMT the following day.

Sign up in this thread if you are interested -- I'd like to have sixteen players for the first game.

If you ask me to post this, then why do you post it in Off-Topic? :p

Moved to 'my' forum, where this belongs.

I wanted to be sure I had your permission before posting a new game in your forum.

I asked the other Mods if I could initially post it in OT so I could take advantage the higher volume of participants there to build interest in and awareness of the game.

Then I was going to ask that it be moved to AOG once we got started playing...

XIII said he'd "Sticky" it for me until the move.

I'm in. Time for a little anti-immunity action.

how will the challenges work? i ask because i love the show (100th episode upcoming thursday) but i'm not sure if i could check two times a day

Immunity challenges are basically a mass game of Rock-Scissors-Paper.

They are a group effort -- so it's absolutely critical that you participate in them or you will alienate your teammates. I'll post who submitted which choice each round, so you'll know if someone is not contributing.

Victory is to some extent a matter of chance, but participation is the major controllable factor.

At some point the tribes will "merge" and immunity will be handled differently, and we'll shift to a once-a-day schedule (for voting only.) More on that later though...

My bad. :o Sorry, I haven't communicated about this with the other mods. You can still post a thread in OT with a link to this thread though.

I'll join :)

If there's still room I wouldn't mind coming on board.

Still have plenty of room... :D

Tribes will be called "Darkshade" and "Sibling," to reflect the local CFC culture and to honor those prolific posters!

I wanna be a part of Tribe Sibling!

Sorry guys -- no one chooses tribes -- I'll determine it randomly. (Names in a hat.) Both these guys were generous enough to loan us their names, and I'd prefer if you kept any preference you may have to yourself...

I'll play, but i won't be able to post before 2 pm on weekdays.

That should work -- adjusted for your time zone you'll have four hours to send a Private Message related to the immunity challenge. 23:00 GMT is 6PM East-USA.

Then you'll need to be able to log-on after 6PM to check the results of the challenge and possibly vote. You'll have until 10AM the next morning to cast your vote by Private Message. (15:00 GMT is 10AM East-USA.)

Here is basically what I have in mind.

There will be two teams of eight players each. Every day they will participate in an immunity challenge, which will be resolved by a simple but large-scale game of Rock-Paper-Scissors, submitted by PM.

The losing side will then vote off a member later the same day also submitted by PM.

The votes are SECRET, but once the results are revealed I will list who vote for whom. Secret alliances are encouraged. You may converse by PM or in this forum and lie or whatever you think is the best strategy.

When we get down to ten players total, the tribes will merge and the immunity challenge will be replaced by an individual immunity system.

(Each player will get one "immunity" and they must choose the best time to use it. It will be submitted along with their vote, before they know if they will need it, so using it will be risky.)

Player's will vote off a member a day until we are down to two. At that point a jury of the seven previously voted off players will vote for who they think should win.
