I completely agree with your comments Gaius, but a bill like that would never pass in this socialist parliament of ours, so obviously concessions had to be made.

Which is why I made perfectly clear that the bill needed fleshing out and any comments were welcomed. Many people have provided comments. There are spring loaded and air powered weapons that are lethal and should be included with the rest of the firearms, however, there are many that are not lethal - so finding the right definition is very difficult.

Yeah, I know, I just found the irony amusing.

It's very difficult to define, yes. You could rig a paintball gun to shoot lethally, so we have to figure something out.

I think we could have a clause which allows people 16 and over to use firearms with parental permission. That age could be lowered, of course, but we don't want 5 year olds with guns...

Yes, I agree. Perhaps it could be something along the lines of guardianship or something. I was allowed to use a proper bow and arrow and an air rifle at scout camp when I was about 12 and there was absolutely no problem for me or anyone else in the troop.

I'm really busy just now, which is why I've had no time to really focus on this law - but I can get back to it later.
