Civ V won a BAFTA over StarCraft II, Plants vs. Zombies, Napoleon: Total War?! Now I've seen everything....

Eh, Civ V is the strategy game from 2010 I had by far the most enjoyable play time with. Didn't play Napoleon: Total War, but I'd put it ahead of Starcraft II (certainly beats Civ for polish, but not for actual enjoyment in my eyes), and wasn't PvZ a 2009 game?

I would NOT expect Civ V to win many "strategy game of the year awards" because it simply did have issues, but I'd be shocked if it didn't win a few. However polarizing it is, a good number of people love the game - and that's because the game is actually pretty damned fun to play.

Hows it's comparative cost to buying the game and all the DLC separately now though? comparing it to what you paid 6 months ago is hardly fair as it's always going to appear cheaper.

I think I'd still be ahead given the 6 months of play unless it's also considerably cheaper than a new game.
