hahahahahhaa is it normal to dominate as Datlof by the early classical era? even on a Ynaemp true earth map? still datlof is my favorite yogscast civilization always ready to stand in definace of a hellish horde...... hell those gin slingers laid waste to an early scythian invasion (which was in the year 2560BC) in one of the games i played with the mod and urm by 2480BC Tomyris submitted to the Datlovian Gin Slinger Horror Horde lols. well after capping scythia's 8 cities's i was practically unstoppable earning me a space race victory by 1540AD lol lol but still what a mod! its become my favorite current civ 6 civ mod! also might want to change the leader to Brewis Ginley lols thats the name i heard was something people refer to as the leader of datlof lol

I was considering renaming Lewis to Brewis, but then I realized that it would make the mod easy to confuse with the old Civ 5 mod (which, mind you, I didn't make and claim no credit for), but yeah - against an AI that is unable to adapt to Datlof's play style - Datlof is pretty OP. If you play multiplayer, however, other players could predict the great slinger rush and perhaps rush archery. Defending as Datlof is relatively easy due to its unique ability, but that ability is only 1 combat strength higher than Teddy's - which actually affects a larger amount of land. All in all, I'm glad you enjoy the mod and I appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration. ;) Also, stay tuned. Once SDKs are released, I can promise you this mod is going to get a hell of a lot more "mighty!" Datlof remembers...

WE REMEMBER! FOR MIGHTY DATLOF WE ARE! DATLOF REMEMBERS! i will bee keeping an eye on this mod for sure im also sure that naming your civ leader to Brewis Ginley wouldnt really effect the Civ 5 mod as well its civ 6 100 times better then civ 5 and again its a civ 6 mod so why would there be any implications? if the owner gets ratty about it i cant see what issues they would have as the original owner of the name is lewis brindley, CEO of yogscast entertainment and by all rights the name is his creation XD still as its a civ 6 mod that would break civ 5 if it was ever tried to be ported or just plain installed into civ 5 the name should be used as you are the first one to make the civ 6 datlof mod

I'm sorry, and I don't mean to sound rude, but there are a few things I would like to point out:

Number 1: Mark Turpin is CEO of the Yogscast. Number 2: Civ 6 is a hell of a lot worse than Civ 5 (if we're talking DLC, otherwise I agree with you). Number 3: I want an easy way to make my mod unique; if you search for Datlof mod, I want it to be very easy to tell the difference between mine and the old Civ 5 one other than just the game name (because, at first glance, it might be easy to mistake 5 with 6).

On another note, I have a few more ideas for an upcoming soundtrack for the civilization. This is the current list:

Spoiler Musics :
Who Likes to Party - Kevin Macleod
Baba Yetu - Christopher Tin
All Rise for Datlof - The Yogscast & some others...
Alchemist's Tower - Kevin Macleod (I know it's short, but I love it)
Exotic Toys - melodicpictures
Gay Activity - Richardson Clive
Vectors - Area 11
All the Lights in the Sky - Area 11 (not much of a classic YoGS theme, but it was used in the first civ 5 live and I love me some Area 11)

Do you have any other tracks you would like to add to the list?

Nerd your critism is welcomed as for the CEO i do conceed and say i was wrong there is nothing wrong with that i always assumed lewis was the CEO but then again i dont claim to be a massive yogscast fan im just a yogscast watcher :) as for the DLC i didnt get the DLC as i only got the base package it was all i could afford

bab yetu lols! man oh man civ 4 right there! and area 11 lol there good i agree with that i think you got a good selection there i used to have a massive selection of yogscast used mp3's just heh i was hit with a doom virus that i had no choice but to force reformate without being able to back anything up....... was 6 years ago though

I feel sorry for you about the loss of those mp3s. They will always be remembered :P (just like Datlof).

yeah some of those mp3's were kinda rare yogscast used ones that the yogscast no longer use themselves! it was a sad day but where there is a will there is a way! also youd like to know that in my last playthrough i got screwed over by a natural dark civ menance from far to the south on a sub-continent.................... yet amazingly he only used tanks artillery and infantry to hit me even though at the time he had his favorite toy! mwahahahahahahahahahahhahahahaaaaaaaa datlof destroyed by the civ devil himself!!!!! this i shall remember!

I like the mod. it REALLY helps if your new to the game you last a while longer so you can figure the game out. I would encourage new players to play this MOD! I notice gin slingers do not look like the regular slingers. I do have some questions:
1. do any of the bonuses effect clergy i.e =1 all or defense in friendly land.
2. When do you get the special building gin brewery... i have not seen it yet.
3.I do not under the +1 of this mod, their is nothing on the economic side. +1 to all str does not help out your wallet.

Pot distilled gin
represents the earliest style of gin, and is traditionally produced by pot distilling a fermented grain mash (malt wine) from barley and or other grains, then redistilling it with flavouring botanicals to extract the aromatic compounds.

Keeping with the lore of Gin what id like to see with this mod:
1. Good Gin is addictive and it spreads like a religion from city to city (religion of Ginology spreads 20% faster).
2. Gin Brewery provides +3 gold + 2 food + 3 production + 2 culture
3. Wheat fields and juniper fields require many hands when ever a gin slinger kills a unit in combat it becomes a worker able to work the land or RUSH production cues (aztec civ).
4. Gin is good business and provides 1 free economic slot Or hate toward this civ is reduced civs like him better or both.
5. +1 to strength per wheat field in your cities. (aztec) better than +6

After the Gin slingers have become out dated. Continuing on with a little assistance in the industry era. a unit replacing the machine gun with + 3 range and fire power. this would be a real help to people when they first start to learn this game. It suck when your new and you get placed beside schthiya or the greek woman or worse gilamesh.

I appreciate your support and agree with you fully! Also, the Gin Slingers always look like warriors due to the fact that Firaxis has not yet released SDKs. ;P As for your questions:

1. Last Stand allows for +6 combat strength in friendly territory. Most of Datlof's abilities affect only combat, which allows you to focus elsewhere.
2. The Gin Brewery is acquired with Medieval Faires (Which I understand does not represent the time when Gin was created, but it represents a good date for a sort of mass production).
3. The abilities of Datlof allow you to focus on your economic side without worrying too much about defense and military expansion. I know it might sound confusing, but by not affecting economy, Datlof's abilities affect economy.

As for your recommendations, I will see what I can do without breaking the game balance too much. You probably won't see another update to this mod until SDKs are released, but when that happens I will release a series of updates adding textures, music, and some community recommendations (such as your great recommendations!).

Thanks for the mod. I cant complain at all the mod save me from wiping early 3 times. I was unfortunately placed between Gilgamesh and Sycthia BOTH kept calling me weak because i was focusing on cash flow and they kept attacking, I could not go after them but they could not kill me either. The barbarians tried to kill me early as well but they were not even a challenge, they would come close and id damage them and they would realize the error of their ways an retreat or died trying me!

In hindsight, I think I'll modify that music list slightly. I was originally going to include Vectors, as the current version of Vectors contains the original Yogscast outro theme, but alas - I have changed my mind. For a while I have been thinking of replacing that particular track with Euphemia (as the Yogscast outro theme was originally in Euphemia, not Vectors), but after listening to it a few more times, I am almost certainly going to include Euphemia instead. You see, that audio clip fits perfectly at the beginning of Euphemia; not so much at the end of Vectors; therefore, until further notice, these are my plans. I simply thought I would like to make you aware just in case Bocaan comes back confused. ;)

NerdByFate, how did you do the custom art stuff?
About 12 hours of trial and error (not even joking). If you want to take a look at my source code on github, you can probably figure it out. In short, every texture (.dds) must be registered in a .tex and a .xlp, and every .xlp must be registered in a .artdef (the .artdef is what will link the texture to the game, with the exception of diplomacy screen backgrounds); furthermore, every .artdef and .xlp must be registered in a .dep (Mod.Art.xml, if you're using ModBuddy). Any .dds that isn't compressed with A8R8G8B8 will not work (paint.net can handle that for you, provided you change the save file option). You can copy my artdefs and such and use them as a base if you wish (I'd also recommend looking at RoD_Config, RoD_Icons, and RoD_Leaders for icons and diplomacy screen backgrounds). The .modinfo could also help you. Note that the github repository is missing one of my textures, as github couldn't seem to upload it. Hope that helps!
