Civilization IN SPACE!

I too technically IIRC but I was using the Internet definition.

Hercules. Sorry for the 36 hours delay. Was working long run. No life. Yay! *flutterhorse moan*

Our exploring ships found a pair of still working Scout Ships in a wreck in the Eridanus system. They have been named Eridanus and Isis, after the system and planet they were discovered respectively. Hopefully this will help the Forge find any other survivors in the coldness of space. Many planets of the Eridanus system seem habitable enough with a little terraforming, once we have stabilized the situation at home we´ll see if we can spare some colonization ships.

Captain Rodriguez:

We have just completed our eighth month of exploration. While at first I disagreed with our Prime Minister’s decision to send us on this mission under the authority of Dale Giddard of the ministry of exploration, I must admit that we have finally found something that may be of value. Again, it seemed strange that he would send a Planetary Defense Ship on an exploration mission, but at least it may not have been a total waste. That being said, I do not want to get our crew’s hope up to high after being surrounded by darkness for eight months.

Our sensors, as poor as they are, have picked up some wreckage floating in an asteroid field last month. We can be in reach of it by this time next month. However, upon our approach and simply by happenstance, our sensors have indicated something else. We may have found a Star System.

I have sent communication to the Ministry of Exploration, and now am awaiting their decision. It would take us about three months to reach the outer edge of the unknown Star System, if indeed that is what it is. If we explore the wreckage first, we may find something of use. Information about this region perhaps? Or maybe survivors? We are simply too far away to get a proper scan. Yet moving to the wreckage would delay our journey to the possible system by another two to three months.

I hope we get our orders soon.

Aww, I only wish this game would move a little faster. It takes me literally less than a minute to complete my turn, when I am around my laptop that is...

Blue-tinged white main sequence A0V star was discovered Our defense ship measured that it is fusing hydrogen to helium in its core. No signs of life, one planet with atmospheres and 2 planets with moons.

Captain Rodriguez:

After receiving our orders to inspect the wreckage in the asteroid field and another month’s journey of complete and utter boredom, we have finally had some excitement. Navigating the debris and asteroids have proved to be a small challenge to my crew. Small indeed, but at least it beats running the same drills day in and day out. That, and now we have something new to look at instead of darkness. Rocks. Floating rocks. Oh, how I hate this mission. Give me some action!

Anyway, we have sent a team of lab rats over to the debris. I suppose it’s a good break to get those squinty eyed pencil pushers off the ship for a little while. While they do not like being called “lab rats”, I find it gives me a little pleasure, so they can get over it.

Preliminary reports tell us that they have found some salvageable equipment and parts. The stuff may be valued at about 90 credits worth. So yeah, that’s a fair trade. Nine months of “exploration” away from our families and we get to look at rocks and bring in about 90 credits worth of junk. Don’t get me wrong, its just that me and my crew are trained for planetary defense. Hence, the class of vessel we are in. This vessel was not made for permanent dwelling. It, my crew and myself were meant for orbital deployment around our home planet, not some Easter egg hunt in the middle of nowhere!

Well, as soon as the lab rats are back we’ll head over to what might be another Star System. Who knows, we may finally see action.

Oh, and before I forget, I heard that they finally finished the first scouting ship. Same speed as ours, but equipped with better sensors and can sustain a crew in space for a prolonged period of time. I had hoped that they would come out here and bring us back home to do our job, but no, they are being sent the opposite direction.

Ok, I am done venting; now I’ll put on the dutiful Captain’s face and follow orders. I hope no one ever reads this…

Indeed, I can´t await his propaganda posts once he finishes his first Battlecarrier.

Meanwhile The Forge is as The Forge does and continues being productive. Now that we have a pair of fully functional scout ships the Planetary Defense ships have been called back to their homeworld in case anyone out there gets any funny ideas about our defensive capabilities.

Also what the heck did you post there on the Tracker Tachy? My translator says:

"There was once a time where spacetime being reduced in a concurrent point despite the unimaginable distances. The universe is reduced to a portal of points in points. Long live the precious monolith to the tachyonic travel."

PDS1's recent voyage to Rho Spinel's orbit yields unexpected credits. PDS2 will soon depart the Paradise's outer orbits.

Ya´ll must be so proud of ya´ll selves sitting at home with ya cozy labs commin' from momma Earth. Meanwhile we go out into the cold wild space and actually do somethin'. Just yesterday ah got an report from Eridanus and Isis that they´ve found the charts of 'nother habitable star system in one a' these wreckages floatin' round everywhere. They figured we´d call it Chrysoberyl after the ship they´ve found tha maps in, and ah said wha not.

Imp. Stop drinking. It's bad for health, reputation and the belly.

Off my tachyonic trip moments.

It's a miracle our  YOUR pitiful spaceflights so far haven't been attacked by pirates. Pirates are everywhere, ruthlessly plundering and seizing everything in their path. Space isn't empty, because it's crammed with pirates in every direction. And because space is infinite, it offers limitless hiding places for a ruthless band of buccaneers. Everything you take into space already belongs to pirates — you just don't know it yet.

You can't make a treaty with pirates, nor can you go to war against them. It's all just booty to them.
