Civilization Request Thread

Well, to be fair, this is a request thread [emoji14]

True. The question is, who is willing to step up to the plate of making that civ?

Hopefully nobody; its a bizarre request for a leader. He's a nobody in a category of extremely important and influential people, British monarchs. There are like a dozen British political figures that need doing before him (not least a properly updated Ireland)

An Ostrogothic civ led by Theodoric would be awesome to go along with the Visigoths by Tomatekh and The Vandals(and Alans) by JFD. Especially for an ancient themed set up or a "Fall of Rome" type scenario!

Yeah, he doesn't really seem all that interesting. I guess you could go with a social policy theme to fit the whole 'Reform' aspect of his rule, but honestly I don't see all that much that warrants his inclusion over other monarchs.

Does anyone have any ideas for an ancient Syracuse or Jeffersonian America? They're two civs that I'd be interested in making, but I'm having some trouble thinking of a design for either of them.
Syracuse: Lots of archimedes references, like the Claw of Archimedes and a nice science focus or something. Mamertines might be fun as a UU, but probably not ideal :p A Gastraphetes as UU would be even better.

Jefferson: No idea :p

Jefferson America has to have something involving expansion and reduced Unhappiness, personally.

So I've just spent like two weeks trying to figure out how to mod stuff, but modding requires two essential skills: programming and photoshop mastery, and I'm not particularly good at both so I guess I'll just toss the idea down here and hope for the best.

Actually, I've been planning for like a pack of Ukraine-related civs, but even if I could figure out some basics, the stuff I'm planning is gonna take years to be accomplished by a total noob. Srsly tho, why were like Neherlands included but not the biggest country in Europe, jeezus weezus

*GIANT WALL OF TEXT WARNING*

The first one is Ukraine under the rule of Pavlo Skoropadsky, the first Hetmann of Ukrainian People's Republic (probably better to use "Ukrainian national republic" for the sake of matching the abbreviation UNR). His unique trait is "I Don't Take What's Other's and Not Giving What's Mine" (might as well just be "Don't tread on me", but that's kinda more of murican stuff) - something like +75% attack and defense on friendly territory, +75% health and defense for all cities, but -75% attack and defense on enemy territory and -90% attack on enemy cities. The plan is to create an ultimate defensive civ, much like what Ukraine is and used to be so that if you get attacked (might as well make the AI more peaceful and/or limit player's ability to declare war) you will most probably absolutely obliterate their army, but could'nt do anything against enemy cities. The unique unit is the Synozsupanniky (The Blue Coat Division) - a slightly cheaper, stronger and more agile replacement for Riflemen which also gains +10% defensive bonus when fortified on a forest tile; and the unique building is the Maidan (The City Square) - a replacement for Market, which gives +30% and +2 gold and produces 1 of culture and science per turn (might be a bit op tho)

The second civ is Ukraine (duh) under Nestor Machno. The leader trait is "Freedom or Death" (the literal Machno quote btw) - +20% combat bonus and +10% culture generation after the Industrial era, but if you adopt any ideology except Freedom, you loose these and get -5% combat penalty and -5% production. Kinda. The unique unit is the Chorna Sotnya (The Black Hundred, hundred is Ukrainian military unit analogic to a battalion or something) - have usually been formed from local farmers (therefore are dedicated to protect their land) and trained to be extremely mobile for a hit'n'run tactics - +5% combat bonus when close to a friendly city, 3 movement and can ignore the terrain, slightly cheaper and weaker than the Riflemen which it repaces. I just couldn't think of any building, so made up another unit - the Revolutionary Cavalry - similar to the Black Hundred, 4-5 movement, ignores terrain, cheaper and weaker than the Cavalry

And, finally, the last one is either Symon Petliura, Roman Schuchevich or Stepan Bandera. I personally prefer Petliura more, but all three are causing a lot of butthurt, so I guess it doesen't matter really. The leader trait is "Insurgency" - (idk if it's possible, but I'm just proposing an idea) +20% culture and faith generation while fighting a war you didn't declare, +5 happiness from reconquered cities, -50% health regen on cites taken from you, and units can occupy enemy tiles (turn them in your tiles) they are fortified on while at war which you didn't declare (if you do this at a peaceful time you'll get -5 happiness and the one you did this to denunciates you, and if you occupy at least one more tile while denunciated he declares war on you regardless of any circumstances, if you declare a war and then occupy the occupied tiles will be damaged). The unique unit is Insurgents - a bit cheaper, weaker and more agile than the Infantry which it replaces, but gains attack and defense bonus the more cities you've lost in a war and the closer the unit is to your capital - a bit less straightforward take on Skoropadsky. And the unique building is the Vernadsky's Library - a wonder which can be build after you reach Industrial era and can only be built by Petliura/Schuchevich/Bandera; gives one free great person of choice and generates +5 culture and science in the city where it was built

Kinda sorta. If no one picks it up i guess it's gonna give someone some ideas at least

Inside the new civilization subforum, last word opened a thread for his civilization packs. Its somewhere in those packs.

I have a few I really would like to see:

Malacca Sultanate: CL is making Malaysia but Malacca would be a good naval civ.

Great Perm: Civ that is was in the Russian North near the Ural Mountains.

Cilicia: Always wanted to see this be made. A faithful militaristic civ that could be interesting.\

Jaunpur Sultanate: Have a nice design for them. Only problem is finding a flag.

Leon: This Iberian kingdom isn't planned for the spanish split by Uighur_Caesar IIRC and it's a kingdom that defended against the Umayyads.

Kutai: Indonesian Civ that would be good for naval and trade and was the oldest Kingdom in Indonesia.

Alsace: Defensive civ that benefits from declaration of friendships.

There's more of them but if any are interested in these just reply and I'll give the full idea.

I'd also like to see Perm.

I'm currently doing an Armenian Cilician civ, along with an Empire of Trebizond and a Seljuk Sultanate of Rum civ as apart of my Asia Minor civilization pack (might add more civs to this pack, but for now I have the three, an Empire of Nicaea civ is an interesting prospect though). These are all good suggestions and I would like to see them done. Also if you want a flag for Jaunpur and you don't want to search everywhere for it, you could just nick EU4's Jaunpur flag. http://www.eu4wiki.com/Jaunpur

Eu4's flag is the only thing I found. I was actually thinking that Jaunpur Sultanate coins were a good idea but that requires skill in art :p. Can't wait to see these civs made.

Might have to hire an artist. One of the civs are currently in production while I'm figuring out the design of the other two civs. Alexios III for Trebizond looks interesting. Oh yeah you don't mind sharing your Jaunpur idea?

No Prob. Though I feel like the design is OP but maybe that's my opinion. I don't think I'll make civs because it's too much time for me since I'm still in high school. but here it is:
Color (Yes I've thought of it too:crazyeye:): Reverse Timurid Color, so it's Grey/Bright Red
Jaunpur: (Sharqi Legacy) Ibrahim Shah
Cities never lose your religion’s beliefs as long as their is a follower of your religion in that city. Conquered cities have 50% less resistance and provide a large sum of :c5faith: .

Kashi Vishwanath: Replaces Grand Temple. Provides usual bonuses and +5 :c5gold: and +10% :c5production: to land units in the city it was built.

This is the temple at Varanasi which is important for Hindus. The idea stems from Eu4 with an event which makes you decide whether or not to tax incoming Pilgrams. Production is from the fact that Jaunpur was religiously tolerant and probably recruted a bunch of hindus (Though there isn't much on Jaunpur besides Eu4, which I tried to not dominate the whole civ.)

Sharqi Mosque: Replaces Temple. Provides a Great Work of Art :greatwork:, +2 :c5culture:, and +1 :c5science:. Units built in a city with a Sharqi Mosque get bonuses for attacking cities with a different religion other than yours.

Jaunpur is known for their architecture and music (Great Slot of Music). +2 Science is for Ibrahim's pursuit of Islamic Knowledge. Promotion is for using the trait and for Muslims fighting for Religion.
It's a wonderful idea. But I don't have the lua skill, time, or art skill. Just creativity :goodjob:.
