Civilization Request Thread

What do you need for it?

Coding the Aesir. I have no idea how.

If you mean like a set of civs, it's the start of my mythology set.

Don't diss the Greeks! Uh... maybe an Underworld under Hades?

I want to see Egyptian mythology, if only for the amazing leaderscreens.

Why? Oup, there's one of the other 'boring' mythology. Leader screens would probably be very cool looking.

Anything but Greek for a while. I'll be happy to do it if there is a clear leader (It's going to be so hard when I get round to the Tuatha de Danann) and things to make abilities out of.

One, I will never do Egyptian, two, I'll do an underworld under the world.

More seriously, I'll do Duat under Anubis or Osiris(leaning towards human rather than the dog).

Yay! For the leader we can do several things. There's Tengri ruling over Uçmak (a place like heaven or Vallhalla), We've also have 8 other deities. A sun and moon deity (probably ruling over their respective places.) You also have a God that controls all the good spirits on the earth. So yeah you have a few ways to go.

Oh what did Egypt ever do to you? And what you've got against the underworld? What, human model is easier to work with that a dog humanoid model? Actually yeah that makes sense.

If we're talking about doing crazy relgions, why not a Charles Manson civ? :p
Don't make a Charles Manson

The Manson Family
Leader: Charles Manson
Capital: Myers Ranch
UA: Helter Skelter - receive a 100% combat bonus against civs with a different art style than you. +2 culture and +1 happiness from Great Works of Music. Specialists provide progress towards Affiliate generation.
UU: Affiliate - replacing the Great Musician, the Affiliate produces culture when near a Mansonite city.
UB: Ranch Compound - replaces the Amphitheatre. available at horseback riding instead of drama and poetry, the Ranch compound has a slot for 2 Great Works of Music instead.

I'm sorry

I just feel like Egypt will be the hardest to do properly, what with their creation of furries. The Turkic thing could be fun, like you said there's a lot to do with it, but there's almost nothing I can gain from minimum research.

By the by, I've opened up a design thread because I don't want to flood this place with designs before Seonjo's done :p

Any chance you can post a URL? I am not going looking through the threads for that thing.

Ah so just hard leader screens? Yeah it would be fun, since I'm somewhat passionate about the subject I can find out somethings about the pantheon and send it to you. Because like you said you can't gain a lot from minimum research.

It's right here.

Thanks!

Spanish Kingdom (Phillip III)

How about some video game civs:

Lemruia under Hydros: UA: Fountain of Life: Coastal cities and units produced there have 20% more health.
UU: Mercury Adept: Unlike the Great Scientist it replaces, the Mercury Adept can also be expended to heal units and cities nearby by up to 50% of their total health.

Oh this is a nice naval civ we have here. Which game is it from though?

Also speaking of designs I now have my new Sokoto design! I'll post my old design for comparison when I get back home.
Spoiler :
The Sokoto Caliphate under Sultan Usman Dan Fodio

UA: The Fulani Jihads
Killing units gives :c5faith: Faith and capturing cities gives :c5faith: Faith and :c5culture: Culture. Missionaries are stronger and there's a chance to receive a free worker from defeated units and cities.

UU: Hakami (Lancer Replacement)
Stronger more expensive Lancer replacement that has a reduced penalty against cities

UB: Shamaki (Stable Replacement)
Does not require nearby pastures to build, 20% :c5production: production towards mounted units +1:c5production: production and :c5culture: culture to horses, sheep and cattle.

3rd UC
UB: Emir's Palace (Courthouse Replacement)
Normal Courthouse bonuses plus it can be built in any city and yields +2 :c5gold: Gold, :c5culture: Culture and :c5happy: Happiness and has no maintenance cost.

It's from Golden Sun. It's the hidden city of Lemuria of 'immortal' mercury adepts, which is the technical term for water magicians, who can also heal people.

Hmm. Maybe I should try a Video Game civilization, how about one from one of my favorite games: Skyrim!

The Stormcloaks
(Ulfric Stormcloak)
UA: Skyrim Belongs To The Nords! -
All units gain +10% Strength :c5strength: for every city you have conquered :c5war: and gain +5% Strength :c5strength: for every city you previously owned but was conquered :c5war:. (Max: 45%) Units have 1 Movement :c5moves: after attacking an enemy.

UU: Bone-Breaker (Replaces Swordsman) -
This unit deals +25% more Damage :c5war: to any unit that is stationed in an Encampment, City or Citadel tile.

UB: Mead Hall (Replaces Granary) -
Units trained in the city where this building is made receive the "Mead-Drinker" promotion that heals them by +5HP each turn.

Skyrim, eh? I can step. Never really been a fan of the Stormcloaks, though, so naturally I'd want to design

The Forsworn
Leader: Madanach
Capital: Druadach

UA: King in Rags
Spies stationed in rival cities reduce that city's Growth by 10% and cause Resistance when that player is denounced or declared war upon. Gain Faith from capturing civilian units.

UU: Briarheart
Unlike the Crossbowman, which it replaces, the Briarheart is unlocked at Theology and may melee attack. Additionally, it has the ability to chop down Forests or Jungles in friendly or neutral territory, restoring a large amount of its HP and providing it with a temporary Combat Bonus.

UB: Redoubt
Unlike the Walls, which it replaces, the Redoubt provides +2 Faith. In addition, it boosts the Combat Strength of any unit garrisoned within the city by 10% and causes garrisoned Ranged units to receive the Indirect Fire promotion.

How about

Colony 9
Leader: Colonel Vangarre
City List: Military District, Residential District, Commercial District, Tephra Cave, Mag Mell Ruins

UA: Old High-Entian Outpost: Gain a burst of food and production whenever you discover a ruin. All cities gain bombardment damage for every technology you own.
UU: Driver Soldier: Unlike the Spearman it replaces, The Driver Soldier gains a 50% hp and grants a 50% defence bonus to other melee units on the same tile as it.
UB: Shulk's Lab: Unlike the Workshop it replaces, Shulk's Lab grants a burst of science whenever you discover a new technology and grants +50% research speed whenever a swordsman is garrisoned in the city t is built in.

So there was a globe for some reason and Arison and I came up with a plan: We'd stop the globe somewhere and design a civ for it.

As soon as the globe stopped, he immediately pulled out :/

But I didn't, so here's Micronesia
Leader: Tosiwo Nakayama
Capital: Palikir
Start Bias: Coastal
Cul Div: Sahul or Colonial
Civ IV Traits: Seafaring/Financial
Religion: Protestiantism?

UA: Compact of Free Association
Upon Declaring Friendship with another civilization, you and your friend receive +15% Gold in all cities, increasing to +20% if your borders are open to them. Militaristic City States may grant any Unique Unit.

UU: Nahnmwarki
Unlike the Great General, which it replaces, the Nahnmwarki receives points towards its production from Gold generation as well as Experience gain. In addition, it may be expended in City-State territory to provide a very large Influence bonus.

UB: Rai Stone
Unlike the Stone Works, which it replaces, the Rai Stone costs no maintenance and provides +2 Gold on each Stone and Marble resource. In addition, Rai Stones may be traded between cities, taking one turn to move there for each tile separating the cities and generating a sizeable amount of Golden Age points.

I'd have the Rai Stone have raw, useful yields and then keep the moving between cities bit. i feel like that'd be more clever.
