Civilization Request Thread

Landed square in Kashmir.

Sikhest Civ of all, let's go:

The Sikh Empire

Leader: Ranjit Singh

UA: Lord of Five Rivers
Cities following a Religion have increased :c5strength: Combat Strength and generate points towards :c5greatperson: Misls. +2 :c5production: Production and +2 :c5culture: Culture for every Religion being followed in a City.

UU: Jatha
Rifleman replacement. May be bought with :c5faith: Faith. Ignores terrain costs.

UU: Misl
Great General replacement. Generates :c5gold: Gold, :c5culture: Culture, :c5science: Science or :c5faith: Faith based on the tile it ends its turn in. When garrisoned in Cities, increases Religious Pressure.

Whereabouts on Canada? There might be a few patches where we haven't covered every native civ.
right in the middle of the hudson bay

edit: OH FOR DOOTS SAKE NOT MEXICO

edit: AND DEFINITELY NOT ALASKA

Took far longer than 30 minutes cause i'm a hack fraud but heres Canada comin' to kick ass and drink maple syrup eh

Canada
Leader: Robert Borden

Unique Ability: The Poppies Grow
Land Units gain 10 XP upon defeating a more veteran unit and completely heal upon promoting. Tourism increases Happiness for Canada and her friends.

Unique Unit: Shock Corps (Great War Infantry)
Double defensive Combat Strength if isolated from any other Canadian unit. Each unused Movement Point will empower the next attack by 5% (Max of 50%).

Unique Building: Imperial Plant (Factory)
+10% Combat Strength to Military Units belonging to allies of Canada in a war (Max. 30%). Strategic Resources worked in this city yield +2 Gold.

So I've gone and done this challenge and I received Yemen! So I've been digging through and I picked the Sulayhid dynasty, (who are quite an interesting nation and who also had quite an interesting ruler) So with 34 minutes and 24 seconds under my belt I hereby present to you the the Sulayhid dynasty under Queen Arwa al-Sulayhi!

The Sulayhid dynasty under Queen Arwa al-Sulayhi
Capital: Jibla
Religion: Shia (Ismaili)
Start Bias: Either Desert or Plains. Probably Desert.

UA: The Noble Queen
Cheaper to build buildings in the :c5capital: capital then in other cities and constructions of all improvements takes half the time it usually does. Foreign :c5faith: religious pressure is halved and you can still receive the empire bonus of foreign religions if it is the majority religion in one of your cities.

UU: Taiyabi Da'is (Missionary replacement)
Does not suffer attrition in enemy lands and is stronger when it spreads it's respected :c5faith: Faith. This unit can personally walk through borders without an open borders agreement and does not incur the trespasser penalty in CS territory.

UB: Queen Arwa Mosque (Grand Temple replacement)
Combines the bonuses of both the Grand Temple and of the Palace and has a :c5culture: Great Work of Art or Artifact slot, has to be built in a Holy City.

Rolled Shandong province, tried a Qi design, failed miserably.

I got a bunch of oceans then Saudi Arabia and Mongolia - my two latest challenge civs. Arabia ...

The Bedouins

Hardy Survivors
Pasture resources provide +2 faith while unimproved and +1 food in all unimproved adjacent tiles after being improved. Oases have +1 food, faith and gold.

Camel Rider - (replaces Horseman)
When built, assigned a random unique promotion*. Has a 10% bonus against enemy mounted units which is lost on upgrade.

Desert Kite - (UI)
Unlocked at Trapping. May only be built on flat desert tiles. Yields +1 food and +3 food if adjacent to a pasture.

*Guard - Barbarians may not pillage a trade route this unit is stationed on and grants +1 sight.
Raider - Cost no maintenance in neutral territory and yield +1 gold per turn in enemy territory.
Nomad - Receive double movement on desert tiles.
Pastoralist - May build pastures and grants +1 food on its stationed tile.

Ahh those boundless barren deserts to share

Australia

Andrew Fisher

UA: Cabinet of the People: Upon adopting Social Policy all Cities earn a Happiness boost based on the percentage of Culture expended. Cities connected by Railroad to the Capital may transfer their Citizens between them.

UB: Sheep Station: Replaces the Windmill. Has a unique Shearer Specialist slot which provides +2 Production and has a chance to spawn a unique luxury resource of Wool every turn which increases for every worked tile of Sheep (max.15%).

UU: River-Class: Replaces the Ironclad. Has a Combat Bonus when it is within 3 tiles of an allied City and starts off with Supply I.

I will now retreat to my solemn hole in Europe...

I landed on Jamaica, but I'm probably just going to post it in the design thread since I've been pondering a Jamaica civ for a while and want to get feedback on it.

Also: maybe there should be a separate thread for this "random location" challenge? I might be wrong but it doesn't really seem to me that any of these civs are actually requests to be made so much as ideas for fun. :p

People haven't posted an actual request in this page in fifteen years!

Hey, can anyone come up with a decent civ that can prove Senshi wrong?

Hey, can anyone come up with a decent civ that can prove Senshi wrong?

Okay then, I'd like to request Ecuador and Guyana (because they're the only modern South American countries that I haven't seen a mod or at least a design for*). :p

*Assuming one counts Gran Colombia as equivalent to No-Gran Colombia

Also, on page 148, there's a couple of requests (or at least that's what I thought they were, implied by the fact that I posted them in a request thread) by yours truly from when I first joined the forums.

If no one has done that civilization before is not because no one had come with the idea before, in fact, I could bet it's one of the most requested civilizations in this very thread.

But yeah... it won't get done. People will respect their will.

REQUEST TO ANYONE: A Minamoto no Yoritomo's Japan with this:

UU: Jito: Unlike the Great General it replaces, the Jito only spawns when you adopt a social policy.

You feel that? That's the feeling of a Siam Split incoming! :D

Ayutthaya Kingdom (Borommatrailokkanat)

UA: King of White Elephants -
All mounted units gain +1 Movement :c5moves: and are 15% stronger when fighting within a civilization's territory where their happiness :c5happy: is lower than your own. You gain a permanent +2 Happiness :c5happy: in your civilization each time a Great General :c5greatperson: is born within your cities.

UU: Noble Rider -
Replaces Horseman. Instead of requiring a Horse resource, this unit requires a source of Ivory to be made. Has +50% more Strength :c5strength: than the Horseman it replaces, however it instead has 2 Movement :c5moves: instead of the normal 4 Movement :c5moves:.

UB: Cetiya -
Replaces the Monument. Instead of providing the normal yields, this building provides +1 Culture :c5culture: and +1 Faith :c5faith:. For each policy adopted in Piety, this building yields +1 more Faith :c5faith:.

Isn't that UB just a worse Stele unless you adopt at least two policies in Piety? Eh, I'm not the biggest fan of that tbh

I also fear that most of the time I would prefer the default Monument to this UB, given that in the early game I feel that 2 culture is far better than 1Cul1Fai, especially with shrines coming so early.

Also, I'm pretty sure having a UU that requires a specific luxury is not a good idea.

I got antarctica crap
uhhhh
(joke civ incoming)
Antarctica
Leader: Roald Amundsen
Capital: Orcadas
UA: The Frozen Continent - all snow and ice tiles produce +2 food and +2 production.
UU: Icebreaker - Replacing the Battleship, the icebreaker can traverse ice tiles.
UU: Weaponized Penguins - Unlike the XCOM squad, the weaponized penguin is stronger and cheaper.
