Civilization Request Thread

Ostrogothic Kingdom:
Leader: Theoderic
Unique Ability: Inheritors of Rome: Unhappiness from conquering capital cities reduced by 50%. Can recruit unique units of other civilizations upon conquering capital cities.
Unique Unit: Gothic Palatina Defectors: Replaces Swordsmen. Enemy units defeated by this unit has a 15% chance of healing this unit at a rate equal to the Combat Strength of the enemy unit.
Unique Unit 2: Onager: Replaces Trebuchet. Weaker, but cheaper to build.
Capital: Ravenna

The Total War: Attila is strong on this one. Maybe Saiones would be a better name? I'm not sure what it means but it seems to be used interchangeably with Comitatus

What can I say, I heart TW: Attila.

The Saiones seem like a good idea as well though, although the aformentioned game depicted them as mounted, I don't think it wouldn't make sense that they could serve the same role as the Palatina I've said before, would it?

Greece split:

Leader : IDK, Probably Pericles - UA - Fathers of the West: Earn Great Writers 100% faster. Receive a a free Great Philosopher after discovering philosophy.

UU - Great Philosopher: Replacement for the great writer. May be used to found a school of thought in the city in which it is garrisoned.

UB - Agora: Replacement for garden. May be built in any city next to fresh water/containing great work. +25% great people generation. +1 culture for every 3 citizens following a school of thought in this city. Has a specialist slot that yields +2 culture and +5 GPP towards a great writer.

Concept: School of Thought: Pantheon like beliefs based off of mainly classical and Hellenistic schools of thought. May be founded once per city, and each may only be founded once. These beliefs work like religious follower beliefs, but it's followers and itself are independent from religion. Schools of thought are spread just like religion with pressure, and cities may be converted. Examples:

Hedonism: Doubles local happiness.

Stoicism: Newly trained units from this city fight as though at full health when wounded.

Cynicism: Gain +1 culture from unimproved tiles in this city

Etc. Could get pretty creative with these.

I really like the philosopher. Do you get to choose the school of thought or is it tied to the philosopher that got spawned (e.g Diogenes gives Cynicism)?

Depends. If the civ were to be made, and it was op, it could be used as a balancing mechanic. But otherwise, you'd get to choose. Idk, could work either way.

Peripatetic school: +2 science and culture from University.
Pythagoreanism: +2 science and faith from School.
Sophist: +2 Happiness from Amphitheater

Hm. No, basically, but you COULD probably get it so that conquered buildings can build a UU from a Civ not in the game...

We may be veering off topic (not quite sure given the context of the thread), but how does Bane_'s Azande take the UUs of the conquered city?

IIRC GameEvents.CityCanTrain(ownerID, cityID, unitTypeID) can override the requirements for any unit if you return it as true.

So... um. Apparently Vicevirtuoso already made that civ...
